He has proved him- self worthy of all the praise we can give him. The coach stands for clean sportsmanship and makes the students want to back him up. Go to it, Maag! We're with you! CAPTAIN JUSTICE - Besides being a very capable captain, juicy was the surest tackler on the team. He was one of the fastest men and an excellent punter. Bob. who is a senior, has been two years on the team. ll. GARDNER--Heglcy was our theatrical halfback. VVl1en every-e thing else failed Begley would make a good gain. He was our necktie tackler and he says it,s the only sure way to get 'emf' He is a junior now, but by hard work he can gra l-- uate with the class of IQ24. L. GARDNER-Lee was a line defensive player and always had the Chanute-never-die spirit. He played center and guard. Lee will be our captain next year if Begley Gardner is out of school. Q . GREVE-joe was one of the fast- est men on the team. He was good on receiving passes and offensive work, especially end runs. joe is a junior, and is the coming star of next season. These peo- ple were the charter members of the Chanute High School Chapter. After the initiation, which was held in the Superintendenfs oflice, a dinner was given at the Harvey House. The students' were presented to the student body in chapel on Friday, March 21. Those that were elected to membership were chosen by il series of eliminations. The twenty-five per cent of the class that has the highest grades were first considered, and out of this number eight students were chosen. The pins for the club are gold with a lighted torch on them. The sym- boys for Character, Service, Leadersliip, and Scholarsliip were raised on the pin..
