N. H. CHANICY Bl1QIl,1J1Nti' Chaney High School is located on North Hazelwood Avenue, between Oakwood al' d Connecticut. The structure represents the American adaptation of the Spanish style of architecture. 'l'he architect was Otto I. liling. Ground was broken in 19253 the school opened on Scptemher 7, 1926. The total cost of the building was 5S5?tl.s 000. It is 561 lieet long and 220 feet wide. In the high school there are 35 rooms, an audi- torium xvhich seats 1308, and a cafeteria which seats Z-10. Although the capacity if the high school is only 1530 there are at present 15.30 enrolled. For twenty-live years, Dr. Chaney held the ollice of City Superintendent of Schools 'or Youngstown, Ohio. He died on April 25, 1915, and in that same year the school which bears his name was dedicated to his memory. A Page High: DR. N. H. CHANEY
