Fact and Figures Senior Class History Shelba Maxine Jones, frequently called Shell , is the daughter of Elota and lharles Jones. She was born on September 3, 1937, near Meigs and has attended chool at Newark. Philo, and Chandlersville. Her pet peeves are Mrs, Love and yping. She picks blue as her favorite color and she is usually heard singing Mr, iandman, which happens to be her favorite song. Being cheerleader, you can well understand why her favorite sport is basketball. Her weakness is food of any kind. ihelba has no brothers or sisters. Carl H. Anna Marilyn Bowers is the daughter of Clarence and Thelma Bowers. She was born December 12, 1936, at Zanesville. She has attended-Zanesville and Chandlers- ville schools. Marie Love, our commercial teacher was born in Zanesville a few years ago and was graduated from Lash High School of that city . She attended Meredith Business College and also Muskingum College at New Condord and the University of Michigan at Ann Harbor. She received her B,A. Degree in 1923. She has taught 24 years having Majors in Speech, English, and Minors in Psychology, Modern Languages, Home Ec- onomics, and Bible. 'Her birthday is on September' lst and she lists her hobbies as plays, games, and reading. She chose teaching as a profession because she enjoys doing lt. The part she likes best about teaching is developing personality. ADELAIDE JAMES Mila Adelaide C. James was born in Meigs Township and received her elementary education at a school located on her fat her's farm. She then attended Chandlersville High School from which she graduated. Here as well as being a good student she was a member of a championship girls basketball team. She graduated from Muskingum College in 1936 with a B.A. Degree and has done post graduate work at Ohio State and Ohio Universities. She has taught ll years and has Majors and Minors in Home Ec- onomics. Science, English, Speech, History, and Chemistry. Her chief hobby is A10 collecting old lamps, painting designs on them and converting them into electric lamps. Her favorite flower is the red rose and favorite song is It fs No Secret What God Can Do. She lists her pet peeves as students who say ain't or hain't got . BRUCE H. STRlCKL1NG Bruce H. Strickling was born near Woodsfield, Ohio, August 7, 1918. He received his elementary education in a one room school near there until the eighth grade, when he graduated from Kerr Consolidated School. He graduated from the Woodslield High School with the Class of 1935, rating 4th in his class of 54 students. During three years of his Bfa'-if School his father' T. B. sn-ickling, 'was his teacher. His father is mu- teaching in Jerusalem having completed 41 years. His only brother, Dr. Edward Strickling is a Professor of Agronomy at the University of Maryland. Mr. Strickling graduated from Ohio State University in 1941 with a B.S. Degree in Agricultural Education. He has taught Vocational Agriculture in Ohio since 1941 except for two years that he was employed at the Cooper Tire 81 Rubber Company of Findlay, Ohio. His hobbies are photography, playing golf, and gardening. His pet peeve are people who are afraid to wear a morning dress in the afternoon and say ither instead of neither .
