K' -'vi EIVELRETT G, LEEDOM PRESIDENT HERNA j, CARPENTER W, I I MARTHA 'IEAN BLISS -IOHN WOLFE VICE- PRESIDENT WILLIAM E, ADAMS SHIRLEY JOAN HOUSTON EVERETT GENE LEEDOM,frequently called E, G, , is the son of Thelma and Carlos W, Leedom, He was born January 23, 1936 near Chandlersville, and has attended Rich Hill and Chandlersville schools, He is a very quiet responsible boy, and dislikes people who think they know it all, which happens to be his pet peeve, Anyone who talks to Everett will probably notice that his pet saying is gee whiz , At the present time, his favorite song is Qi Mein Pa- Pa, and he chooses blue as his favorite color, We have been trying to understand why he isn't fat, as his weakness is milkshakes imaybe he just doesn't drink enough of theml. He picks basketball as his favorite sport, and he hopes Chandlersville may someday win all their games, He is usually seen with most any of the Senior boys, Everett has one sister only, MARTHA JEAN BLISS, is the daughter of Eva and Sam Bliss, She was born November 21, 1936 at Chandlersville where she has attended all twelve years of school, Her pet peeve is people who think they know everything, and can't be told anything, She definitely says her weakness is jack Hemmer's Ice-Cream, and we must say it certainly is delicious. Martha jean spends most of her time in the office typing for Mr, Morton, and she chooses basketball as her favorite sport, At the present time, her favorite song is Changing Partners , and her favorite color is blue, Sie is usually seen with any of the Senior girls, Martha jean has two brothers and one sister, JOHN WILLIAM WOLFE, Preferably called Butch , is the son of Emma and ,Iohn T, Wolfe, He was born May 4, 1936 at Philo, Ohio, He has attended his twelve years school at Duncan Falls, Tacoma, Wash,, Rich Hill, and Chandlersville, His pet peeve is people that can't mind their own business , His favorite song is, Ebb Tide , and he chooses blue as his favorite color, Butch's most common expression is Holy Cow , and his weakness at the present time is a certain redhead , His favorite sport is football, although there isn't much of it around Chandlersville, He is usually seen with any of the Senior boys, Butch has one sister, BERNA JEAN CARPENTER, Bernie , was born near Chandlersville on August l, 1936 to John and Eva Carpenter, Sie attended eight years of school at Rich Hill and four at Chandlersville, Berna picks Mr, Strickling as her pet peeve, If you say anything to her, she will usually use her pet expression and answer you by saying, How 'bout thatf Most of the time she is heard singing I Love Paris, so we draw the conclusion that this must be her favorite song, Berna is the active athletic type and shows it by picking basketball and dancing as her favorite pasa times, Her favorite colors are blue and yellow, She thinks her biggest weakness is a soldier, You always see Berna with Joan Huston, Berna has one sister and three brothers, WILLIAM EDWARD ADAMS, commonly called Bill , is the son of Charles and Martha Adams, He was born in the big city of Rix Nlills, on December ll, 1935, To prove that Bill likes variety, he got his knowledge from Meigs, Cumberland, and Chandlersville, He doesn't seem to have any pet peeve, which is natural of Bill because he is a very agreeable person, When asked what his pet saying was, he replied, Idon't know what to tell you, For his favorite in the song line he chose Ricochet, Like most everyone else he selected blue as his favorite color, and like most boys, he seems to think girls are his weakness, Although Bill doesn't play basketball this year, he played for both Meigs and Cumberland, -and we think this might have had some bearing on his choice of basketball for his favorite sport, He is' seen with most of the boys, usually with his cousin, Gary, He has three sisters, SHIRLEY JOAN HUSTON, sometimes called jo by her friends, is the daughter of Hazel and john M, Huston, She was born june Zl, 1936 near Cumberland, Ohio, and she has attend Rich Hill, Adamsville, and Chandlersville schools, Sie is a neat, quiet, and well-liked girl and her ,pet peeve is girls that swear , Her pet saying is most generally Gee whiz , and her favorite song is From Rags to Riches, Her weakness is food of most any kind, although she, like the rest of the girls, has to watch that waistline, Joan picks blue as her favorite color, and basketball as her favorite sport, Being cheerleader, we can understand why she takes such an interest in basketball, and she really does a wonderful job of cheering for the team, Sie is always seen with Berna jean, ,Ioan has two brothers, - -1. 5' I in YS' x x ' 1? SMITH SECRETARY HELEN JOAN DRUSHAL., is the daughter of Inez. and Frank Drushal, She was born on May 14 p 1936 at,Akron, Ohio, Her twelve years of school have been attended at Suffield, Fresno, Beach City, Hopewell, and Chandlersville, She is usually seen with Jean around school, and a certain classmate's brother elsewhere, joan says that eating is her weakness, but that also goes for most any of the other Seniors, Sie may be heard exclaiming O Boy , expecially around her pet peeve, which is homework, The song which she likes at the present is Anytime , and from a choice of all the colors, she picks yellow as her favorite, She enjoys basketball, making it her favorite sport, joan has two sisters and three brothers, GEORGE ALBERT ARNETT, is the son of Norma and Ralph Arnett, He was born May 4, 1935 at Sonora, Ohio and has attended all twelve years of school at Chandlersville, He is usually seen with any of the Senior boys, His pet peeve is just school , although he never shows it, If anybody ever asks or tells George anything, he usually comes back with the answer You don't say which is his pet saying, He likes the song Benbow , and chooses red as his favorite color, His weakness is getting sleep which is why he is so healthy looking, Basketball is his favorite sport, and he certainly takes a heart in playing it, George has one sister, MARCIA JEAN Mc CONAHA, is the daughter of Roy and Mary McConaha, She is known to everyone both near and far as just plain Jeanie , Jeanie was born at Duncan Falls, Ohio on March 7, 1936, and has spent all twelve years of schooling at Chandlersville, Sie particularly likes the color blue, and also, she picks softball for her favorite sport, Her weakness is eating, Truthfully, eating is a weakness that belongs to most of us only we don't like to admit it, Jeanie is the quiet type, therefore, her pet peeve is people who argue all the time thus making a lot of noise, Sie usually can be heard saying, Gee whiz, Sie chooses The Dear John Letter as her favorite song, When Jeanie isn't with her sisters, she is always with joan Drushal, Jeanie has seven sisters and five brothers, JAMES ROBERT BRILL., known as Bob , is the son of Ida and Herbert Brill, He was born in Meigs township near Chandlersville, Ohio on March 4, 1936, and has attended his twelve years of school at both Rich Hill and Chandlersville, Bob is not afraid to say that his pet peeve is Teachers telling him what to do, If you will notice sometimes, you might hear him say Hmm-m not bad, which is his pet expression, He definitely likes gray, which is probably why we see him in that color so often, As his favorite sport, he chooses basketball, and Fm Walking Behind You, as his favorite song, We neverwould have guessed it, had he not told us, that his weakness is women ', Good luck, Bob, we hope it pays off, As you probably have noticed, Bob is most always seen with Bill Leonard, Bob has one brother and one sister, ROSEMARY CLAPPER, is the daughter of Nellie and lrville Clapper, Sie was born April 15, 1936 at Duncan Falls, Qiio, but has attended all twelve years of school at Chandlersville, Her pet peeve is people from New Concord, and she picks Ebb Tide as her favorite song, If she is discussing any certain problem, she usually ends it with That's all she wrote , which is her pet saying, As you know she drives, and now her weakness is to have a car of her own, and because her favorite color is powder blue, that will most probably be the color of, her car, if and when she gets it, Sie is usually seen with Beulah, her favorite sports are dancing and swimming, Rosemary has one brother and one sister, EDWARD EARL SMITH, is the son of Edna and Edward K, Srnith, He was born january 25, 1936 at Terre Haute, Indiana, Daring his twelve years, he has attended the various schools throughout Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, this, of course, includes Chandlersville, Earl says that his weakness is ice cream, and he chooses blue as his favorite color, He likes both baseball and basketball considerably well, but he doesn't plan to make a career of it, Because You're Mine is preferably his favorite song, He can usually be heard exclaiming My Aching Back which is, at the present time, his pet saying, Earl, who has two sisters, can usually be seen with Gayla, 10 .:, Xxx '.' R. Denbow. Pk was born September 9, 1935 at Zanesville, Ohio, but has attended his twelve years of schoolat bgth Rich Hill and Chandler sville, If ever asked anything, Don most always answers with the reply of I don't know what to tell you, His favorite color is blue, and he likes the song No Help Wanted , Although Don has his own car, his pet peeve is one that burns oil , He may usually be seen with either Bill Pitts or Frank Moore, His weakness is eating and sleeping, and as everyone probably guessed, his favorite sport is basketball, Don has one sister, GEORGIA LEE'-JOHNSON, nicknamed Georgie is the daughter of Freda and the late Robert Johnson, and resides with her grandmother Nlrs, U, J, Howell of Chandlersville, Sie was born on june 27, 1936 at Waterford, Ohio, and has been a student at Chandlersville all through her twelve years of school, Sie usually answers anyone by saying Gee Gosh, that wasn't smart , which is her most common expression, She chooses deep red as her most favorite color, and her favorite song at the present time is Stranger in Paradise , Georgie loves to roller skate, and for this reason she picks it as her favorite sport, Right at the present time, her weakness is a certain sailor , Sie is usually seen with Patsy, Georgie has two brothers and two sisters, BERYL WILLIAM LEONARD, always called Bill , is the son of Frances and Carey Leonard, He was born November 25, 1936 in Noble County, Pb has attended his twelve years of school at Rich Hill and Chandlersville, His pet peeve is Mrs, Love, and his pet saying is You all come, As everyone knows Bill enjoys music, and his favorite song is The 'Dillpickle Rag , Red is his favorite color, and his weakness 'is girls about eighteen years old, fWhere he got that idea is beyond us, but he seems to have pretty good luck,l He likes baseball reasonably well, and therefore chooses it as his favorite sport, Bill is most generally seen with Bob Brill, Bill has two brothers and two sisters, BEU LAH EDNA TAYLOR, is the daughter of Lura and Allen Taylor, She was born October 7, 1936, and claims Chandlersville as her birthplace, She has spent all twelve years of schooling within the walls of Chandlersville, If she hears anyone arguing, which is her pet peeve, she will be heard exclaiming, For I'baven's Sake, By the way for heaven's sake is her pet expression, Pkr favorite color is blue, and her weakness iS French fries. Beulah's favorite song is Stranger in Paradise , to show that Beulah is the musical type she loves danncing as her favorite 'pastime sport. Wherever you see Rosemary, you will always find Beulah., .5119 has no brothers or sisters, LONNIE MILTON PARRETT, who resides at the home of 'Nh-s, Essie Mick, was born May 13, 1936 at Zanesville, Chic, He has attended Zanesville, Adamsville, Rich Hill, and Chandlersville schools, His pet peeve is lVlr, Morton and his pet saying is One bird in your hand is worth two in a bush, He picks Oou La La as his favorite song, Lonnie seems to like basketball better than any sport, although he doesn't play on the team, and he selects blue as his favorite color, Like most of the boys, he chooses girls and hot rods as his weakness, Lonnie has two sisters, and is usually seen with Ronnie Wagner, PATSY ANN ARCHER, most usually called Pat ' is the daughter of Ruth and Alfred L, Archer, She was born December Z, 1936 near Chandlersville, Ohio and has attended Rich Hill, Rural lie, Dmcan Falls, and Chandlersville schools during her twelve years, Her favorite expression is Say Now , and she is usually singing or humming Changing Partners , which is her favorite song, She is usually seen with Georgia Lee, Pat picks red as her favorite color, and her pet peeve is conceited people, as she is always so good-natured herself, At the present, her weakness is Stogy , She likes to dance as her favorite sport and we must say, she certainly knows how, Pat has one brother and one sister, Senior Class Prophecy It is now the summer of 1974, and as I step off the train in front of the Chandlersville C 81 O Train Depot owned bv George Arnett, Iam about to hail one of the attractive plastic topped Leonard taxis, As Isee my taxi drive up beside me, Inotice the owner of the Leonard taxi service, being Bill Leonard, as the driver, He tells me that George has several scheduled trains coming into and out of the large city of Chandlersville every day, As we ride toward the main section of Chandlersville, Inotice on Fifth Avenue the newly constructed Chandlersville High School, What a beautiful buildingf Bill tells me that the widely known Donald R, Denbow Construction Company recently finished it, Donald, and his crew of fifty-four men, now is at work on the upper end of Fifth Avenue building a bigger and better ice-cream factory for the owner of the Bliss Ice- Cream Company, Nlartha jean Bliss says that the ice-cream business is too big for her' factory on South Avenue, so she's building another factory, As we sit waiting for the street light to change, Inotice to my right on Highland Street, a large hotel which bears the name, The Wolfe Canadian Hotel , written on a neon sign, This is one of the finest hotels in Qmio, and john Wolfe is the owner, During a recent trip to Canada, john copied the model of a Canadixldotel, and the widely known contractor built it, You know, Donhld R, Denbow, And look who's coming out of the hotel, an old friend of mine, Miss Ann Arden, Of course, that is the former Patsy Archer, who has changed her name since she went to Hollywood, She is now a famous singing and dancing star, Yes, Iremember seeing her in a movie, Purple Sioesu, not long ago, Ilearn that she is in town doing a stage show, But her real ' name is Patsy Robinson, As we move on, we turn left down Banks Avenue, Inotice on the corner the second g largest drive-in-bank in Ohio, and also the first bank ever owned by a lady, Of course, it is Miss loan Drushal, ll guess she loves those greenbacks too,l Sie ought to have quite a few laying around, Beside the bank, Inotice a large building, Why its one of the city's greatest fire stations owned and operated by Lonnie Parrett, lhear Lonnie has some of the best firemen on duty every minute, It is quite a large fire station too, Lonnie owns fifteen fire trucks and equipment, and has quite a management, Then across the street from the bank to my right, there stands a business college, Oh my goodness it's a large one, Why it covers the whole East side of Banks Avenue, It is the Carpenter Business College, and is owned and managed by Berna Carpenter, .These women 'owners are really something, Also this building is twelve stories high, Berna must have a lot of students enrolled, As we turn the corner Inotice a large swimming pool linking the business college, It is af beautiful place, and look who's sitting on top of the lifeguard's chair, Why it's Bob Brill, He has such a nice tan, Ihardly know him, Bill tells me that Bob has complete chargof the swimming pool, There are quite a few girls in the pool, No wonder ,,,,,,, ,iglyjw . iny :I-YV' X -N g N es. - X,..a, .raw are -is L: 3 2 .. , If '-' at '2QabL? 1.-'ra-. inf!! 1 . As, drive down the east end of Ijhll Street, I see a large airport,1 noticed ayplane landing gn the runway, And it's one of the world's TWA transports, I remember way back when TWA - began, I see the pilot is 'Everett Leedom, I hear that Everett is the owner of the ' 'W Chandlersville Airport now, Since the population of Chandlersville has grown, Everett has quite a business, As we turn around at the airport, Inotice stepping from the plane is the air-line hostess-- Rosemary Clapper, How neat she looks in her uniform, The plane has just arrived from Rio de Janeiro, I remember when Rosemary used to talk of her career as wanting to be an air- line hostess, She really sees the world now, l'll bet, . We turn to our right just after passing the airport, and we are driving into another busy part of the town, the Nhin Street, Oh, someone's hailing my taxi, Why: it's another one of my old friends, Beulah Taylor, Sue just came out of the Atomic Electrical Company, She tells me she is doing just fine as a private secretary for the owner of the company, Oh, that lucky guy, 'She sure is rolling in those greenbacks, Her salary now pays about five dollars an hour, and she now types an average 110 words a minute, We are now passing a beautiful, large, lime green building with the sign in front bearing the name of ,I0's Modern Dancing School, the owner and head teacher being ,Ioan Huston, ,Ioan took up dancing right after graduation, and Isee she is making a career of it, She and her shows tour the cities in the United States constantly, Across the street from ,Ioan's dancing school is a doctor's office, Who is the doctor ? '?'? ? ? Why it's Bill Adams, There he comes out of his office., carrying his black bag, he climbs into a Cadillac, Beulah tells me that he hardly ever has a rnoment's rest, , Also, beside Bill's office there is a beauty shop which has windows from the roof to the ground, A pretty sight, It is white and pale blue, Inside lsee a long row of hair dryers, The owner of this shop is gi McConaha, and the sign she displays on the front reads, Miss jeanie's Beauty Parlor , Sie now specializes in hair tinting and bleaching, Now, as Ihave had Bill Leonard drive me through some parts of the city, we are leaving it and approaching some of the beautiful scenery of the country outside of Chandlersville, Ihave asked Bill to drive Beulah and me to the most beautiful spot in Qiio, It lies on a piece of land about three miles west of Chandlersville, We arenow approaching the famous tourist ranch, It is the Smith Bar X Ranch Hotel, which is owned by Earl Smith, Ihave planned to stay over-night in this hotel and have asked Beulah to share my hotel room with me tonight, so we could have the evening meal together, I, Georgia I.-ijohnson, will return to my home in San Francisco, where Iwill continue my work as a scenery photographer in other countries, Iknow by the time Ileave on my plane tomorrow, Iwill have long memories of my old home town,fwhere most of my friends have helped to build the newer and large city of ChandlersvilleJ to cherish in my heart always, A' Class Will The 'members of the 1954- Senior Class of Chandlersville High School leave their magic qualities to the following juniors: Berna jean Carpenter leaves her ability to get D's in History class to Don Nbody Rosemary Clapper leaves her driving ability to Gayla Mchees, Donald Denbow leaves his way with the girls to Bill Pitts, joan Drushal wills her bashfulness to Marilyn Bowers, Patsy Archer wills her musical talent and ability to play the piano for dances to Larry Menzie, Uk has the spirit., Martha jean Bliss wills her trade mark, which is her smile, to Frank Moore, Georgia hee johnson wills her big mouth to Carl johnson, Beulah Taylor wills her typing ability to Bob Johnson, jean NlcConaha wills her ability to read her Home Economics to Rita McConaha, john Wolfe says, Iwill leave ,,,,,,,, isn't that enough ?
