The following Friday night, Tennyson was conquered on their own gym floor again by Coach Bob Chapman's firing squad. We made four victories but Mater Dei turned up with an extra four points. Through the season, we had won eleven games with four losses, then February 1, we crowned our basketball queen, Ann Baker, and Reuben Watson, our big guard, tallied in thirty-two points. Millersburg was defeated that night with a score of 59-96. Here we are now at the last of the season with Wilma Willis, Gale Lockhart, and Norma Fisher still leading the fans with the yells. We broke two records playing Bristow by making the score of 103-73. Larry Simpson broke the shooting average by hitting 18 baskets and 4 free throws to make it forty points for the night. While Indiana has had difficulty projecting the name of the basketball all-stars, we will long remember Gary Lockhart for his outstanding performance; Reuben Watson, for becoming famous beyond the borders; Donald Hunt, winding up the championship games and Larry Fisher, strong in a department in which Chandler excels. At the moment, though, the promise and problems of a new basketball squad, the fans, the cheerleaders, must remain secondary to the more exultant voice of Bob Chapman, Chandler Coach. This won't be much for him though, for we as seniors know that Chandler will have a good ball team, good sports, as long as we have more players like our seniors .
