Senior 4ji5tottj 1953 There we were green as grass and scared to death. Our sponsor was Mr. Turney and we had forty students in our class. We were very proud of Gary Lockhart playing on the varsity team and Ann Baker as cheerleader. Darlene Walters and Gary Lockhart were king and queen for the Spring Festival. Our class officers were: Darril Utley, president; Reuben Watson, vice-president; Mary Jewell, secretary and treasurer; Melba Forston, news reporter. We also enjoyed our class trip to Mesker Park for a picnic. 1954 Then we began the sophomore year with thirty-eight students and Mr. Cato as our sponsor. Our class officers that year were: Mary Jewell, president; Gale Lockhart, vice- president; Phyllis Russell, secretary and treasurer; Sally Teutsch, news reporter. We were very proud of the boys on the varsity team. They were: Gary Fisher, Reuben Wat- son, and Gary Lockhart. We went to Wyandotte Cave on our class trip. We enjoyed it very much. 1955 Then came the next year in which we started with thirty-eight students and Mrs. Ellis and Miss Kincaid were our sponsors. Class officers were: Reuben Watson, pres- ident; Darlene Walters, vice-president; David Cole, secretary and treasurer; Mary Jewell, news reporter. Ann Baker was cheerleader from our class and many of our boys played on the varsity team. The juniors had as much fun practicing as they did present- ing the play, It's Great To Be Crazy , directed by Mrs. Ellis, to make money for the Junior and Senior Prom. The big event of the year was the Junior and Senior Prom at Evansville College Union Building. Our theme was Blue Moon . 1956 Now at last, the last year at Chandler High School. Mr. Waters is our sponsor for this year. There were twenty-eight students still together for one last try. Our class colors are blue and white, our class flower is a red rose, and our motto is, United We Stand, Divided We Fall . Class officers are: Dennis Raven, president; Charlene Schnapf, vice-president; Mary Jewell, secretary; Gary Lockhart, treasurer; Mike Hemenway, news reporter. Reuben Watson, Gary Lockhart, Larry Fisher, and Donald Hunt were on the varsity team. We were very proud to have two senior girls chosen as cheerleaders. They were Gale Lockhart and Wilma Willis. The basketball queen this year was Ann Bak- er; her runner-up was Billie Sue Reeder who served as an attendant. Our class had a magazine campaign to make money for the class trip. Wilma Willis was high salesman in the campaign. We are all looking forward to the Prom and our class trip. On our class trip we are planning to take in the sights at Washington D. C. We are taking Mr. and Mrs. Null as our sponsors for the trip. Then comes the happiest days of our lives, when we walk up that long aisle, toward success and many happy futures for the rest of our lives : Graduation.

la 5 Poem Let's take Jimmy In his snazzy Ford, Linda's by his side And never by the door. Now take Kathryn She's really a doll, And for her David She stays in style. Let's put Donnie Behind the wheel, And when he drags He gets a good deal. Along as we climb the hill We bring Charlene up to the mill, Her personality you can't beat And as a friend she is all reat. Now take Gary He is never contrary, And at basketball He never tarried. On February 1st If you can recall, Ann Baker was crowned Queen of basketball. In a '37 Ford You just might find Mike, And with pretty pep Anita He goes out each nite. Now let's take Dean She's on the beam, And when she's with Sharon She's really a scream. Remember Dennis He was never a menace. But when it comes to Judy He's really a genius. Her life-long ambition Is in the air lines, Let's hope she makes it Cause, Marian, you'll do fine There's a girl named Gale Ann Who always led the fans, As a cheerleader She was really grand. Now there's Gale Gill Out at Wright's, Fixin' up hot dogs All thru the night. Billie Sue with her laugh So loud. When she is with Leo She is really proud. With Gary Jeffries His bark and roar, When he makes a speech He takes the floor. Dot and Darrell Make a cute couple. Sometimes later They'll make it a double. Then comes Reuben In his snazzy green Ford, He always takes Patty Wherever he can afford. Now take Phyllis Out with Andy, As a couple They'll make it dandy. Kay and Larry Are a snazzy pair, In his little Plymouth They sail thru the air. 14
