I hope your cold gets better. I know you are interested in knowing about the occupations of each of our class member so I'll try and do my best. Bob Smith is coaching at Central High School in Evansville, and Ann has bore him two beautiful sons; they seemed very happy. I was very pleased to see Joanne Henager Suter, and Charles, with their three radiant children. Charles is still colonel in the air force, and stationed at Spokane, Washington. Wayne Jones is a stock broker; doing very well in his own business. His wife was ill and couldn’t attend. Vendonna Gill Johnson and Paul are still happily married with their blonde haired, blue eyed baby girls. Paul is the Superintendent of Chrysler Corp. Patty Copeland Watson and Reuben are residing in Louisville, Kentucky. They have a boy and a girl. Patty is working as a Comptometer, and Reuben is doing very nicely in his work. Richard Golle and Betty brought along all the little Golles to the reunion. They are living and working in New Jersey. Marilyn Meyer and Clayton Foster have been married for five years. Marilyn is working for Citizens National Bank as a typist. James Splitorff is doing very nicely on his ranch in Colorado. He and his wife have five children. Virginia Hildebrant and Frank Riffert are married and doing very nicely. Virginia is an essayist in New York. Frank is very proud of her. Leon Hatchett owns his own professional basketball team, traveling all over the world. I know you have heard of his troop, Hatchett and his Hatchetteers. Jerry Hatchett has become an heir to a million dollars. He is rich now but is still nice and un- conceited. He and his wife are living in California. Johnny Lite 11 is married and has a bungalow full of kids. But he hasn't any worry; he owns all the speedways in Evansville. Daniel Koch now owns his own radio and T.V. shop. Mrs. Koch is doing fine at home with their five children. I know you and Dwight are very happily married with your four lovely children. I hear Dwight is doing very well since he got out of college, teaching and basketball coaching. Of course you are keeping house and taking care of the kids. I was glad to hear you have your stone home now on Mt. Auburn Drive in Evansville. I am very happy at my career. I am married, as you know, and have two beautiful children and live in Indianapolis. I almost forgot to tell you about Franklin Baker. He is doing very nicely with his work at the engineering building. He is married to Darnell Brown. Our eighth grade was both a happy and sad one. We had a wonderful basketball team that year. We won most of our games and also the Holiday Tourney. The cheerleaders were Ann Baker, Gale Lockhart and Marion Algaier. Mr. Adye was our sponsor and our class trip was to Spring Mill State Park. We lost two of our dear friends that year, Bucky McCall and Bobby Allen; they are deceased. Then we started our freshman year with 40; we were as green as possible and scared stiff. Mr. Turney was our sponsor and we went to Mesker Park for our class trip. Gary Lockhart was on the varsity squad and Ann Baker was cheerleader. Then came the sophomore year; we were almost half-way through high school. Mr. Cato was our sponsor and we went to Spring Mill State Park on our class trip. The boys on the basketball team from our room were Gary Fisher, Reuben Watson and Gary Lockhart. Now that we are juniors, we are half-way through high school. Mrs. Ellis and Mrs. Kincaid are our sponsors. Just one more year and we shall say goodbye to all the happy times we have had in Chandler High School. We hope high school will be as good to you as it has been to the juniors of 1956. H A. A i. 0 A y 18 A. FIRST ROW, left to right: D, Micheal, D. Hetzel, S. Younker, S. Hatchett, J. Mortimer, D. We couldn't wait for the end of the year, since this was our first class trip. We took it to Spring Mill. Our eighth grade year was a lot different from our seventh grade year. We crowned our bas- ketball queen (Marion May); had two cheerleaders from our room (Linda Williams and Dorthy Bennet); ordered our class rings; and got into plenty of meanness in between time. We kept our sponsor, Mrs. Lowell, pretty busy. Our officers for that year were: president-Leroy Hildebrant, vice-president-Frank Spencer, secretary-Marion May, treasurer-Linda Williams, reporters-Dana Bruce, Doris Hetzel. Toward the end of the year we were sorry that Marion May and Robert Buckman were in the hospital. Our class trip was again at Spring Mill. Here we are. High School At Last I I All forty of us. The Panthers got even with the Otwell Millers who beat the tar out of them last year. They came from behind in the last minutes to beat Haubstadt which is a new team they picked up this year, and they squashed Spurgeon for the third year straight. After the holidays had rolled past, the Panthers lost to Holy Name and a good Mater Dei team. These two teams were a good match for the Chandler boys and they hit quite better than the Panthers, so Chandler came out on the little end of the horn. Then the Panthers came back with fire in their eyes to stop the Trojans from Troy and melt the Posies from Poseyville. It was getting close to the Christmas Holidays then and the Holiday Tourney was coming up while Chandler, thus far, had a 5 and 2 record. The drawings for the tourney was held about a week before spending the holi- days eating turkey, dumplings, and all the goodys that go with it. Finally another ball game rolled arpund and it was Jan. 6 with Tennyson on the roster. The Chand- ler five pulled it through the fire without much trouble, although a small Elber- feld team upset the over confident team. Panthers, 65 to 52 which broke Coach Bob Chapman's heart because Elberfeld's coach is his old classmate. Still down on the game before, the Panthers let a Henderson County team beat them for the second year straight, while bouncing back and whipping the next 4 teams on the schedule without much trouble at all. First was Mackey which pleased Mr. Null very much, because he is originally from there. Then the old calendar had moved to Jan. 21 with Newburg on the roster who is our bitterest rival . We had beaten them once so the Panthers didn't see why they should let them come out on top, so Newburg went down defeated once more to the angry Panthers. That night there was a record breaking crowd in the Chandler gym. After beating Newburgh, the next two games came easy from Chrisney and Millersburgh. On Feb. 4, Art Taylor brought his team up from Evansville who was a little on the dark side to plaster the Panthers 86 to 53. Then the tall Dutchmen from Holland handed the Panthers their 7th defeat of the year by a margin of 27 points—73 to 46. After taking their worst defeats, the Panthers traveled to Francisco's cracker-box to win a close one by only 4 points—67 to 63, comments: (the officials were rotten). Then sectional time was just around the corner and our last game of the year had come up with Lynnville. The Undies from up north pulled a sneaky to win 68 to 64 which ended the 1955-56 season with a 12 and 8 record counting the holiday tourney. 41 ADVERTISING 'BEST WISHES TO THE CLASS OF 1956 Jlollci td jbcuAy HOLLAND INDIANA IF YOU BANK WITH US, YOU CAN BANK ON US.
