Spirited Times Assemblies Spirit Competition Sparks Class Rivalry Limited to only 6 pep assemblies, the students had to make the best of them. Limiting the assemblies gave pom, cheer, and modern dance more time to prepare for their performances, therefore improv- ing the quality of the assembly and the performances. Good assemblies are difficult to stage, said Assistant Principal Caccamo. Though I think that limiting the number of assemblies puts a damper on spirit, it does make it easier for the students to do a better job with pep assemblies. Quality not quantity is what is being sought. Assemblies also gave the students a chance to honor the sports teams. There were six homeroom assemblies for the year. Special pep assemblies were also considered if any teams went to divisional or state tournaments.
