Ike Basha and Lucy Gutierrez were crowned Homecoming King and Queen. 1972 King and Queen, Dave Woods and Chris Hunphries and 1981 King and Queen, Jim Jeffries and Heather LeMay attended the Royalty assembly and the dance at San Marcos. There was an alumni and parent dance held after the game, in the old gym. Instead of free standing floats, mobile floats were built. The floats were based on the theme Somewhere in Time, seniors won class float and overall competi- tion, sophomores placed second. A parade proceeded down Arizona Avenue, after school. Over 6,000 people attended the homecoming game. Although the Wolves fell short of victory to the Moun- tain View Toros C27-145, Chandler placed 2nd in league and went on to the state tournament.
