MR. MAHER Supervising Principal MR. MOORE High School Principal To The Seniors: You are living in a rapidly changing world. This Yearbook is a partial expression of your life today. That life is different from the life of ten years ago. 1 am sure that it will be quite different from that of ten years hence. Ten years from now, that which appears smart and up to date will seem quaint and old fashion. You are living in a period where more and more people realize the necessity of universal education. More and more people agree that opportunity for schooling is a democratic birth right. All over the world millions of people are deciding that what the favored few have they want, too. You have spent a minimum of twelve happy years learning the basic necessary fundamentals so that you can take your place in this modern society. How you will conduct yourself in the situations you meet and with what respect each of you will be regarded by the people you serve, only time will tell. No matter what the future may bring, I am sure that the crowded happy years that you spent in the Champlain Central School will be remembered for a long, long time. 5

SEATED: Mr. George Cameron, Mr. John Zurlo, Sr., Mr. Eugene Lincourt - President, Mr. Robert Casey - Vice-President, Mr. Elmer Caron, Mr. Ellsworth Grue. The duties of a school board are varied and complex. It is our responsibility to aid in planning and developing a program which will allow every child to reach his greatest potential. It is our belief that the school should never confine the student's development to that of preparing him fora specific vocation. We must have a program which will give to every child the best possible basic education. We are constantly aware of the fact that in our rapidly changing and increasing complex world more and more functions in the prepara- tion of children for adult life tend to fall upon the school. To meet these problems, we solicit the support and cooperation of all concerned. Congratulations to the Seniors! We sincerely hope that you have acquired a broad command of all the basic skills and are fully capable of taking your place in our society. EUGENE J. LINCOURT, President Board of Education
