Kelly Chesmar, the only senior on the bus looks at the underclassmen, thinking ' How That last bell! It's finally rung and the last rush begins. Most students hur- ry to their lockers, grab books, and run to catch buses. Silence descends. It's almost the nicest time of day to be in school. But gradually, in places, life occurs again. On the parking lot the band may be practicingg on the field the team is scrimmagingg in the gym the girls are volleying the ball for their next matchg and in some rooms teachers are grading the last test papers of the day. For some, the work day is only beginning. The janitors and custodians are hard at work cleaning rooms and halls. They stay late at night to assure that the school is always clean and orderly. 2 QQ o 0peningl5
