George gets all 'slicked up' for his play part. beats SWHUBQJDSE On March l lth and 12th, the Junior class presented the play Up the Down Staircase? Under the direction of Mrs. Brockett, the juniors produced a suc- cess. The comedy was about a beginning teacher at Calvin Coolidge High School in New York City. Miss Barrett, the new teacher, tries valiantly to teach her rowdy students, While contending with cheating, spit-balling, suicide, and the lack of understanding. Despite her hassles with the pupils and the 1001 forms of CCHS, Miss Barrett eventually succeeds in taming the school year and surviving in one piece.
