Moderator of 4C Sabres Chairman of Mathematics Department Advanced Algebra Trigonometry Solid Geometry A lt' IG na y lca eometry Moderator of Photography Mathematics Keeping up with the trend of increasing high school math courses, the Mathematics Department added l2th Year Mathe- matics to the senior curriculum. This subject lays the ground work for a standard course in Calculus. This new course is an example of the goal of the Mathematics Department which was expressed by Bro. Boeckerman who said, The goal of the Mathematics Department is to blast those with 'high potential into orbit. Last year CHAMINADE HIGH SCHOOL joined the Nassau County lnterscholastic Mathematics League which is composed of 43 high schools. Brother Frank Mullan was the moderator of this year's Math Club and Math Team. Associated with the Mathematics Department is an elec- tive course in Mechanical Drawing offered to the juniors and seniors. This subject is taught by Bro. Mullan. ' BRO. Studie epartment Under the chairmanship of Mr. Fox, the Social Studies Department has enlarged and enriched its cultural and educational content. The department has enlarged the Senior Gov- ernment courses by the additional study of both state and local governments, giving the student a more complete understanding of the subject. The History and Geography courses have been enriched through the rise of modern maps and globes. Many educational historical films have been presented to the students as a means of study through visual aids.
