CORBETT, S.M,, M.A. Moderator Al-l Scorpions Chairman English Department English Ill, IV Sodality Fine Arts Society Drarnatics Club Speech Club Space Magazine To improve the grammatical and literary standards of the school and to co-ordinate the activities of each division are the goals ot the English Department for this year. Under the Chairmanship of Bro. Thomas Corbett, S.M,, the Department has begun the use of a new series of grammar work books, Essentials in English . Each student is required to hand in a book report every three weeks in order to improve his reading comprehension. ln order for each division to present a uniform cur- riculum in English, the Department has in- augurated the principle ot divisional heads. Mr. Gratton was appointed head ot the Fresh- man Division, Bro. O'Neil the Sophomore, Mr. McNamara the Junior, and Bro. Thomas Corbett the Senior. FOX, M.A. Moderator 4C Sidewinders Chairman Social Studies Department American History I, ll Treasurer Catholic Teachers Association Since the study of the privileges of our national heritage and of our country's place in this world is such a complex one, the Social Studies Department is divided into a number of different sections in order to cover the vast amount of material, Under the direction of Mr. Joseph Fox the Department presents to the Freshmen the basic facts about the various countries of the world in Economic Geography. The Sophomores are given a course in World History from the beginning of time. American History is given to the Juniors and Seniors to round out the curriculum.
