The religious members of our faculty exem- plified the dedicated spirit of instructors throughout the Catholic school system of the United States. The lay members of our staff were an example of the educated Catholic laity that our students will soon become. The members of the faculty, enlightening the minds of the students, infused vitality and understanding into every subject. Supervising our varied extracurricular activities, they provided friendly encouragement and guidance for the entire student body. X

Reverend During the past year, Chaminade was grieved by the loss of two very good friends. On November 26, 1956, the Most Reverend Thomas E. Molloy, Bishop of Brooklyn, died at the age of 71. Throughout the schoolis history, Archbishop Molloy consistently aided its efforts to expand its facilities. On October 1, 1956, the Most Reverend Raymond A. Kearney, Auxiliary Bishop of Brooklyn, was called to his eternal reward. He had given unstintingly of his time and effort in his position as Chancellor of the diocese. Dur- ing the period that the see was vacant, the Right Rev- erend Edward P. Hoar, Diocesan Administrator, man- aged the affairs of the diocese with the aid of the Most Reverend Iohn Boardman and the Most Reverend Edmund I. Reilly, Auxiliary Bishops of Brooklyn.
