Additional Organizations In addition to the general organizations and clubs of the Chambersburg High School. there a1'e several smaller groups which deserve recognition. however, as making a definite contribution to the life ol' the school. C. V. F. T. The first ol' these groups is the C. V. F. T., an honorary Biology club. first organized in 1936. The general purpose of the club is to foster interest in Biology and promote sociability among the members. The real purpose of the organiza- tion is revealed to members only. Membership is limited to those students who have an average in Biology of 905 or over. The high light of the club's activity is the annual hike. Giionoli BIHCHER -SERVICE SQUADS The second group of smaller organizations falls under the general name of Service Squads, which render a worthwhile service to the school. Hall Squads-About twelve years ago, the principal of the high school OI'g21I1- ized a group of students into a Hall Squad. Two people are assigned to each floor during each period of the school day. lt is their duty to keep the halls from becom- ing disorderly and to give information to visitors. A tiendance Sq11adfThe boysiand girls who collect absentee slips from home rooms each session, and from class rooms and study halls each period are known as the Attendance Squad. By their faithful service, an efficient and prompt system has been established for recording all absences. Book Squadff-This squad is composed ot' boys who distribute and collect song books at the school assembly programs. Stage CrewfeA group ot' boys, directed by Miss Collicott. has charge of stage equipment and lights for all programs given in the auditorium. Home ManagenzenI-Under the direction ol' Miss Kish. a group of girls pre- pares and serves cafeteria lunch each school day. Another group has charge of the Emergency Room, where one girl is on duty each period. ready to give first aid to any student who may become ill. Page One Hundred Sixteen
