REQUIREMENTS High School students who are able to play Grade II music are eligible for mem- bership in the orchestra. Rehearsals are held every Thursday. ACHIEVEMENTS The members of the orchestra are trained in the knowledge and use of the Various instruments. The orchestra furnishes music for school programs, plays, and public functions. SYMBOL To provide an opportunity for the pupils of the High School to play popular music.. ' REQUIREMENTS Positions. both vocal and instrumental. are filled by try-outs. ACHIEVEMENTS The dance orchestra, this year officially christened The Rhythm Kids . plays for nearly all school dances and also fills many outside engagements. In the past two years they have presented several broadcasts from station XVJEJ. in Hagers- town, and their picture has appeared in three national music magazines. Once a year the dance orchestra gives an assembly program, which is always well-received. This year the second dance orchestra was continued. under the direction ot' Richard DilTenderfer and Ted Peters. The function of this organization is to play for club dances and to train players for the senior dance orchestra. Page One Hundred Fourteen
