It's the job of the cheerleaders, to catch the tenor of the day, inject a shot of vim and vigor into laggard Chiefs, drum up the voices at the games. The girls are selected by a vote of the student body, They work in the summer on the perfection of many new cheers and chants. During the year they whirl, dance, sing, pantomime in cheer- ing during the pep assemblies and games. In addition to the election of the varsity squads, the capable J.V.'s are picked by the students to re- place outgoing seniors. These groups liven up the school when presenting skits and putting pep into loyal fans. They also serve to add to the color and excitement of the games-football, basketball, and spring sports.
