Promises to keep and miles to go before we sleep Promises to keep and miles to go before we sleep. With this motto, 74 seniors began their miles to go on the evening of May 27. The seniors were led in by the Junior ushers, Jeanette Anderson and John Kerhwald, while Janet Winjum played Pomp and Circumstance. Rev. Deragisch of the St. James Catholic Church, gave the invocation. Bonnie Biskeborn gave the salutatorian address and John Buckingham III gave the valedictorian address. The Commencement address was presented by M. F. Coddington, State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Halls of Ivy, and After Graduation Day, were sung by the Girls Sextet. Hans Richner gave a flute solo accompanied by Bonnie Biskeborn. The Mixed Chorus presented Born to Be Free, C.H.S. Hymn, and Aloha Oe. Principal Howard Elrod proudly presented the largest class to have graduated from CHS, to Dr. Henry Mueller, President of the school board. Rev. Deragisch closed with the benediction and the spectators stood as the newly grad- uated class marched proudly across the floor toward the future. M. F. Coddington Rev. R. R. Klein
