? 1 .M 1 B Novak M Opitz M Chaussee L Doyle L Bauer M Tagtow Queen Jeanne King Ray R Sharpe F Reuer C Yates D Waysman T Kaltsulas P Vance 010' Roy Ita, As strains of the processional march rang through the CHS auditorium the curtains opened disclosing a decorative stage and the array of attendants came forth All were in place and Master of Ceremonies Harv Soulek announced Queen Jeanne Woster and Marshal Ray Chaussee to a breathless awaiting audi ence CHS Homecoming activities for October 23 24 1958 were in full svsirg QUEEN JEANNE AIND MARSHAL RAY After the coronation ceremonies and program all the students attended the traditional bon fire and snake dance which led to a pep rally in front of the City Hall The crowd dispersed and students hurried off to make last minute adjustments on class floats October 24 the big day arrived and the warm sun shiny weather was appreciated by all Queen Jeanne Marshal Ray and the CHS band led the Homecoming parade down Main Street It was later disclosed that the sophomore float Stepping to Victory had taken first prize while the seniors' We'll Fox Em placed second and the Juniors' Tombstone Territory re ceived honorable mention After the parade the crowd congregated at the foot ball field to watch the Cubs topple Wag ner Z6 20 Coach Stahl was carried triumphantly off the field by the winning team To add the final touches to the festivities, a dance was held in the lunch-room which was open to all CHS students and alumni. Thus the memorable 1958 Home coming came to a close. Z2
