The year began with 225 enrolled in the high school and we were privileged to make use of the new National Guard Armory for various classes. From our gay Home- coming festivities in October until our Commencement exercises in May, a whirl of activities has paraded by. We see 39 seniors leaving us and a host of underclass- men ready and determined to take their place. The pages of this book are bound together by the companionship and loyalty that each student feels toward the others as he proudly says, This is my school! Barbara Jo Gowdy, our art editor, de- signed the cover this year. This marks the first year that such a feat has been accom- plished by a staff member. We, the staff of The Cub , wish to thank everyone who has in any way helped to make our annual a success. We especially send our deepest appreciation to the mer- chants in our area, for without their whole- hearted co-operation we would not be able to bring your high school memories to you in this way. Fantasyland was the theme chosen by the juniors and Ray Chaussee was the master of ceremonies. Jerald Swanson, junior class president, welcomed the seniors and Linda Cable, president of the senior Class, responded with a 'thank you'. Following this, Superintendent Elgie B. Coacher spoke to the group. The waitresses and waiters chosen from the soph- omore class wore colorful Alice in Wonderland costumes. Streamers, stars, rose arbors, and murals depicting fairy tales provided a pleasant back- ground for music furnished by Pat Boffman's band. A fd erly me mg Nluead H010 !.g Q! f-3? The CHS Cubs finished a tough schedule for the 1958-59 year under Mr. Dale Vance with an admirable 9-10 record to show. Many of the games which they lost were by only a few points. The B squad under the guidance of Mr. Stahl ended their season with 7 wins and 7 losses, also a good record for these inexperienced boys.
