Such teams as Gregory and Notre Ibme were champions of their conferences while Wessington Springs and Pierre were completing undefeated seasons. The tea.m started the season as a very inexper- ienced group of boys but ended the season playing the type of ball it takes to win. Six members of the squad will be lost by graduation. Raymond Spec- kels class of 1947 was the speaker of the evening. Following the ceremony the traditional bonfire pep rally and snake dance we re held, disbanding down town and ending the festivities for the evening. The parade led by the National Guard Color Squad and the CHS Band was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon. Several of the rural schools and business firms participated in the parade, making it a very beautiful event. The Sophomore class was awarded the winning float, Seniors second, F. H. A. Club third and F. F. A. Club fourth, In the evening the Cubs romped over the I-lighrnore Pirates 4O to 6.
