With approximately forty-five students out for the declam program this year Chamberlain High School capped top honors by winning first place in the District 14 speech contest held at the local high school Local first place winners who represented C.H.S. at this contest were D. Nervig, oratory; M. VanOver- schelde, poetry; R. Bartlett, dramatic; and E. Speckels, humorous. Winning a superior rating in both the district and regional contests with her dramatic selection, “Dark Victory, Ruth entered the state contest held at Pierre on Dec. 2nd. She received a good rating.
