HENORA MUNCH A good dancer, she also swims beautifully, plays ball well, sews, and dresses fastidiously. She is one who is soft-hearted and sincere. Nora has her plans made for the future as a beautician. She should do well in any field. PET ER MURLA A former instructor of tennis for NORD, Pete this year played in the Sugar Bowl tournament. Pete's claim to fame is not only in his smashing drive in tennis, He also plays first trombone in the school band. CONNIE MUTZ. Don't be misled by that quiet manner. Since her Freshman year she has annually proved her intelli- gence at the State Rally. This passion for learning does not out-weigh her love of fun and adventure. Here love of life and a keen mind are well-met. DELLA MYERS That little whirlwind passing by was Della on her way to get things done for Newman, F.B.L.A., or The Owl. Faithful and efficient, she brings to any job the cheerfulness to make it fun. BILLIE DA LE NUGIER Billie is a true Southern lady with grace and poise. She enjoys laughing and makes friends easily. New- man Club Vice President and Little Colonel, she likes a good time but is willing to work. She also possesses N N ,,,. ,N an inner beauty, sweet and gentle, which never f' ' produces an unkind word. She is in Newman, Chorus, I. A., F,B,L.A, She was also a member of the Jr. f Basketball Team. LINDA OLIVIER Bright-eyed Linda has a forceful personality. An alert student, she is an asset to any class. She is a talented dancer, having won third place on Stunt Night. She is a member of Newman and of Chorus. X

That's our Sandra, her shining green eyes smiling Hel1o. Sensible, efficient, and dependable, she is an excellent typist and does well in Home Bc. CHARLTON MATTHEWS, JR. Buster, who always wears a smile, is a four-year member of the band, and plans to become a music director, As a Jr. he won an award in Shop and this year has been Vice-President of Key Club and a member of F.B. L.A. WA LT ER McCALL How could the Annual Staff have managed without the fine work of this painstaking artist? His manners mark the true gentleman. His never-failing courtesy and dependability make him a fine person to know. He is a member of Newman and F.B.L.A. SHARON MCDONALD What a pity we had to lose Sharon before the year's end to her native state of Texas. In her three years with us she made her mark as an excellent student, pleasant companion, and member of F.H.A.. F.B.L.A. , and Annual Staff. FLOYD MCKENZIE Here is a versatile fellow. He is a member of C Club, of Chorus, has been on Jr, Basketball Team, and has played football for three years, this year being an outstanding center, MARIA MEDINA Dark-eyed, smiling, soft-spoken Maria was this year voted Most School Spirited, and no wonder. A fine student, having won awards in Social Studies, she is in many clubs, often as officer, is Vice- President of F.B. L.A. , and was a maid in Home- coming. CAROL MONTELEONE Friendly Carol is a real athlete and all around girl. For three years she was on Softball Team and in Sophomore year won first place in relay. Former officer in homeroom, she is Vice President of Letterettes and a member of Newman. JUDY MORGAN Gracious and friendly, Judy is a capable, interest- ing person. An excellent student, she has been a Rally entrant, last year placing first in French reading. She is Secretary of Y.F.C,, C.H.S. Ideal Girl, runner-up for Miss Chalmette, and member of J. A.

Z, f PET ER ORLANDO Courage, will, and drive personify Pete, outstanding player twice voted Ideal Athlete, chosen Most Val- uable Member of our Riverside Cham ps, and a member of All State Basketball team. His unfailing good humor and lurking mischief insure his popularity JANE PALERMO Lucky the home that gets Jane as cook and seam- stress. She will provide it with wise guidance and an ample table. Should she enter the business world, these same dependable qualities will be an asset. She has been on Owl Staff, in Newman, and F.B. L.A PAUL PEAK What have we here? Voted Most Handsome, Best Groomed, Ideal Boy in C.H. S., on Jr. and Sr. Basketball Teams, All State '59, All District '59, Student Council Treasurer, Sr. Class Officer, Key Club. Does he feel important? No! This is Paul, the same unassuming fellow we knew as a Freshman. ANNA RANDOLPH Her scales are balanced with fun, ambition, and love on one side and the power of learning and understanding on the other. Her many achievements are but an indication that she will bring into her planned career of nursing the qualities that it demands. MYRNA REICH The gift of song is a lovely thing, and with it Myrna makes others happy. A member of Chorus through the years, this editor of Maroon Memories has contributed her talent, dependability, and sweet sincerity to our school life. KATHLEEN RICHARDSON Kay was born with a needle in one hand and thread in the other. Her quietness is deceiving, for her brain is working overtime. She never says she can't and never says she won't. Two years a member of the band and Drum Bugle Corps, she also belongs to F. H. A. KAY RICHOUX Many times a rally entrant, often an award winner, medal winner in English, Chemistry, History, officer ofY Teens, Dramatic Club, Owl Staff. None of these say the truth: that Kay is sweet, sincere, warm, unassuming, intelligent, and courageous. ESTHER RIDER Serenity and a pleasing personality combine to make Esther well liked by everyone who knows her. She is a loyal friend who always greets you with a pleasing smile and a complimentary word.
