Pat scores not only as a friend but also as one of Chalmette's softball stars and an active member of the Lerterettes. FRANCES ASCHEBROCK Black, sparkling eyes reveal the power of under- standing for which Frances is noted. A meritorious scholar, award winner in many fields, rally entrant winning essayist, it is no wonder that she was chosen Most Intelligent Girl of 1960. JOE BARCELONA Energetic, fun-loving Joe is always laughing even when serious. He puts himself wholeheartedly into sports and his other interests. A speedy member of basketball and track teams, he is also an excellent swimmer and diver. ROBERT BEARD That genial fellow behind the candy bar has a well-mannered, pleasant smile for everyone. A lover of all sports, he can be counted on for 'school spirit to back the team. FERNAND BEAUCOUDRAY With a friendly laugh and the ding dong of his car bell this well-groomed, goodlooking, courteous fellow approaches. Often nominated for these titles, Ferdie is also a rally contestant, member of Student Council and of Chorus. ROBERTA BEGUE Though a newcomer, Bobby has made many friends. Not only the possessor of many essay medals for other years, she has won here the Voice of De- mocracy Contest and has been a strong contender in others. GERALD BOOS Here's the chap who gets your newspaper to the printer's and home again. Not only valuable on Owl Staff, Track Team, and in Chorus, Gerald's sense of humor also guarantees fun for any group FAY BOYLE Member of Newman Club and F.H.A. His love of music is evinced by his cornet lessons, and a further interest is mechanical drawing. His meticulous methods should prove valuable in the engineering career he plans. LINDA BROUSSE This quiet, pretty, poised lass hides beneath her gentle manner a great deal of courage and an indomitable will. Whenever a task is set before her, you can count on her to accomplish it. GLORIA BURAS Though small in stature, Gloria's fine qualities give her a generous height. She speaks her beliefs firmly and is willing to do her part, She loves to sew and is an active member of F. HA. CATHERINE BURNS Say it with music! This fits our Cathy well, for she has been a valuable member of the band since eighth grade. Besides this talent in music, she has a wonderful sense of humor and is fun to be with. TILLIE CAMPO A talented athlete, she excels in many fields. She can make a basket or pitch a curve ball. Versatility is the word. Secretary of Letterettes, Tillie has made her mark in sports. DIANE CANTRELL Click, click, Diane is typing, transcribing her own careful shorthand. What a loyal and friendly girl this typist is. She should go far toward becoming a valuable secretary. MARIE CARDERARA A level-headed, thinking person, her quiet attentive- ness marks her as an interested student. Member of Pep Squad, Newman Club, F.H.A., and F.B.L.A., Marie has taken an active part in campus life. MATTHEW CARDERARA Matteo's genial smile marks him as one easy to get along with. Summer finds him skimming along on skis behind a speedy boat. His choice of the Naval Reserves is a natural. SIDNEY CARLINI Tall, quiet Sidney performs rather than talks about it, A veteran band member, he is also a valuable man on Track Day when his long legs lap up the Mile Run, A former Vice President of Key Club, he is a good citizen. CAROLYN CAROLLO Take heed, for here is a girl who may be small in height, but who is thought of by many in a big way. She has stood as a symbol of honesty, politeness, and joy through her years, taking part in Chorus, Pep Squad, Newman Club, and F.B.L.A. BERNADINE CARUSO Winsome ways and pleasant manners has this lass of the soft brown eyes--a Newman Club member and an expert seamstress, having taken Home Economics for three years, she will be a fine homemaker. PAULETTE CASSAGNE Attractive Paulette of the long black hair and mis- chievous eyes, wears a charming smile, a true sign of her friendly personality. A hard worker in school, she is also a credit to the Owl Staff and the Little Colonels. CARL CHRISTEN This tall, manly fellow has the quiet, sensitive nature of the lover of music and of the outdoors. Few people know the woods and streams as he does. This is Carl. EDWARD CLARK Ed is the modern Davy Crokett, spending every spare minute hunting. His love of the outdoors matches that of fun, for he is forever ribbing his friends. This happy attitude has made and will keep solid friendships. JUDY CONSTANT Constant is Judy, faithful to assigned tasks. An enthusiastic member of Pep Squad, she is also an active participant in F.l-l.A. and promises to be a wonderful homemaker. KATHRYN COULTER Kathy, a Mississippi gal, we all love dearly. A student of merit, she has won many honors, among them Miss Ir. Executive, Owl Editor, President of Y. F.C.g and officer of Little Colonelsg and title of Most Likely To Succeed. Like her name she is pleasant to be with, and though she is small, she has not been overlooked in popularity. STEPHEN COWEN Well loved by students and faculty, Larry has achieved much. A State Rally and Pel State representative, cheerleader, letterman, three years class president, president of Student Council, he has won titles of Most School Spirited, Most Popular, and Most Likely To Succeed. JULES CROVETTO Though Juste's affability and integrity have made him a host of friends of both sexes, this romantic Casanova has a positive genius for making a hit with the ladies. A member of Newman, he is also a talented trumpet player in the band. CARMEN CRUZ Take a smiling, generous disposition and a bit of curiosity, add flashing eyes, dark hair, a pinch of sarcasm and a dash of pep. Mix well. Place in a Chalmette atmosphere. Presto! An unforgettable person, our cheerleader, Carmen. IRIS DAVIDSON Charm ing and pretty, lris is an interesting conver- sationalist and expert in typing and shorthand, having been chosen to represent us at the State Rally. A member of the Owl Staff, she is a conscientious worker. DOLLY DAVIS Dolly is well-named, for her china-blue eyes are truly doll-like. Active in Newman and The Little Colonels, she is always ready with a helping hand. She makes friends quickly and keeps them forever. JUDY DEANO Gracious, friendly, and pretty, Judy can add gaiety or a serious note to any gathering, as the occasion demands. Many times a club or class officer, she is also a fine student, often attending literary rallies. Count on her to do any job well. JANET deBRUEYS How refreshing to glimpse Janet's radiant, intelligent face. This popular lass has won awards in Geometry and Algebra and placed second in the latter at the State Rally. She placed first in Nat. Merit Test. BETTY DELANEY This stately red-head is a pleasant, good-humored person with many friends. A serious student, she also is a soprano in the Chorus. She is a member of the Newman Club, F.H.A., and F.B.L.A. RONALD FAHRENBACHER Artist and musician, Ronnie is well liked for his extremely good humor. A valued member of the school band, he also swings a wicked sax in the dance ensemble. This clean-cut, polite young man has much ambition. HOLT FASTRING Here com es Holt with his quick wit and exacting nature. Though active in J.A. and other clubs, his outstanding achievements include the Chemistry Award and attendance at the National Scientific Training Program. Proof of his title of Most Intelli- gent is his taking first place in Trig at the Rally. STEPHEN FATZER Though a person of few words, Steve is a man of many parts. He has played on the football team, been Vice-President ofY.F.C. , and is an artist on Annual Staff. His talent should bring him success in comercial art. LYDIA FAYARD Lydia's dependability is paralleled only by her bubbling enthusiasm. She is pleasant to talk to and pretty to look at. As a majorette, she has shown the spirit and vigor to spark any team. MERRILYN FAZZIO Her very name characterizes her happy, warm, sincere nature, Studious and intelligent, she does not speak incessantly, yet neither is she taciturn. Silence often speaks volumes and has more music than song. JAMES FUSSELL Though this is Barney's first year here, his ever- present smile and gentlemanly disposition have made him any friends. His attitude has brought him popularity and good grades. We're glad he joined us. IRIS GALYEAN Quiet, smiling, and understanding Iris has made many lasting friendships throughout her years at Chalmette. Witty, independent, pleasant, and sincere--that's Carmen, a brave defender of her beliefs. GEORGE GILLIGAN That tall blond is George, an athlete well-liked by all on the campus. A fast member of the basketball team, he made All Riverside in '59, A member of Student Council, Y. F.C. , and C Club, he adds much to school life. RICHARD GIRO Richard's quiet, shy demeanor, often interrupted by witty remarks, has won Chalmette's heart. He is a member of Junior Achievement and sings tenor in our barbership quartet. His high aims denote a person of character. FRANK GOODWIN Frank is well known for his friendliness around school. His good character and talent are equal, as many know. His ability in music, art, and mechanics is outstanding. PATRICIA GORDY Here, a mighty fine lass we see, showing confidence strength, and integrity. Patsy has participated in the Newman Club, Civics Club, F.B. L.A. , Chorus, Pep Squad, Volleyball, and J,A, DIANE GREEN Miss Chalmette, Miss F.B.L.A. and its president, yearbook editor, alternate ldeal Girl, and first place winner at Rally in Home Ec! What more can one say except that she has charm and good looks. WARREN GROOMER Warren is our Thespian. His flair for dramatics insures a good performance in every play. Home- room President for four years, President of Dramatic Club, Newman member, and good student, his ability is indicated. TERRY GRUNSKI The pen is mightier than the sword is true in reference to this cute co-ed's literary skills. With a nice turn of phrase she can whip up a newspaper article in short time. She will go far, armed with a pen and a smile. LUCILLE GUERRA A hearty laugh echoes down the hall, and Lucille, well known for her humor and friendly nature, appears. She has been a member of the Chorus and is an officer of F.l-I.A. DRUCILLA GUIDROZ A group of girls and a roar of laughter indicate the presence of Drucilla. Her sparkling brown eyes and quick smile betray her fun-loving nature, yet, she commands respect for her ability to get things done. LOIS GUILLOT Lois of the flashing smile has won lasting friendships with her gentle charm. Member of Dramatic Club, J.A., and Newman, she makes no display of her good qualities, yet they are indispensable. REBECCA GUNNELS Rebecca is a person of unusual personality. She has the most wonderful laugh. It is as if the world around her were full of happiness with no room for sadness. No one could mistake her in a crowd. She's the girl with the smile and the baton. FRANCES HAGLER Frances hails from The Old North State. A wealth of dusky hair, a generous smile, and a practical nature are her trademarks. Whether it's cake sale for The Owl or Scrapbook for F.B. L.A. , count on Frances to be a prime instigator. CAROLYN HAHNEBOHM Carolyn is an enthusiastic member of Newman Club, Pep Squad, and F.B. L.A. Say, can anyone remember the day her hair literally stood on end? She was a brave girl to be the guinea pig for the atom ic scientist. JOAN HEBERT Take Me Out to the Ball Game should be Joan's theme song, for this excellent athlete loves and plays a fine game of softball or volleyball. A live wire, this Letterette attends all games, and can be counted on to spark the team. JAMES HEFFKER Lover of hunting, fishing, and all outdoor sports, Jimmy has been an outstanding guard on the football squad. As a member of track team, he is proficient in the discus throw and also has made a good scholastic record. Why, it's Henry of course, the mischievous lad with the shy, charm ing smile. JOYCE HENDERSON This petite, vivacious blonde is active in many fields. She is a member of Little Colonels, Y. F.C. , and Owl staff, and had the lead in the Dramatic Club play. An exellent student, she was winner in the Security contest and attended State Rally. EUGENE HENO An avid outdoorsman, Eugene is associated with hunting and fishing. An interested sports observer, he can give the latest information on our teams at any time. His mild-mannered, jovial attitude has made him any friends. JAMES HOFFPAUIR This fine athlete is also a gentleman, dependable, unselfish and courteous--a true leader. An outstanding lineman in football, he won in '59 the Harold Weiss trophy. He stars as well in baseball and in basket- ball. MICHELE HOOVER Cheerleader for four years, former Most School Spirited and Homecoming Maid, Michele now holds the title of Most Popular. As proof that she is an all around girl, this merry girl is in J.A. , F,B.L,A., is an excellent swimmer, and is complete mistress of Lizzie, the car. TONI KLEIN Dependability characterizes Toni in any activity. She has been sports editor of the Owl, has played basketball, and does well in her studies. In her Sr. year she has been in J.A. and attended Rally in Home Ec. ROSALIE KRA US Her soft brown eyes and gentle smile bespeak the perfect lady. Good student, Rally entrant, speech contestant, J.A. member, old-timer in the Band, Rosalie can be counted on to represent us well and often. DARLENE KUCKENS A devotee of the art of Terpsichore, Darlene is an accomplished dancer, having completed a nine- year course. A member of Chorus, Newman, and F. I-LA., she has many friends. ROBERT LHBROSSE Bobby is well-liked for his thoughtful and pleasant personality and has an excellent potential for what- ever he chooses to do. He is catcher on the baseball team that in '59 placed second in the state. EMILE LAMARQUE In his one year on the football team, Bubby has made his mark as a fullback and top ball carrier. Possessed of an amiable disposition, he is well- liked and does well in academic work. PHYLLIS LANCASHIRE To observe decorous, stately Phyllis in class you would never suspect her to be a chatterbox with scintillating wit. Full of fun, she loves to dance and be gay.
