( heir outstretched arms point to the setting sun, For when they climb hither, the day's then done. SENIORS 16 Our FRESHMAN year proved to be an interesting and challeng- ing experience. We scheduled our classes unaware of the hassles they were proud to present to us. and our social lives met a slight depression. As SOPHOMORES, we were busy with raising money for mums, carnations, bake sales and the in- famous floating candles; and our social lives opened up just as soon as we got behind the wheel. But who can for- get driver's ed? Football concessions and the JR-SR game added a new dimen- sion as we started our JUNIOR year. Varsity sports became a reality and the scene took on a more serious tone. Oh. and we finally exper- ienced the PSAT's and SAT's. After our girl's football team retired with a 0-2 record, the SENIOR class got down to work to organize the Homecoming Dance. ’Come Sail Away . This same class effort worked together again in late October for the Pumpkin Roll. As winter came, the seniors displayed their Christmas spirit by successfully taking first prize at the Student Council Hall Decorating Contest. Going to Florida for spring break was the rage and waiting for those fateful college acceptances was murder, but we endured it all if only to graduate in June. The CLASS OF '82 has experienced many, many changes these past four years. We are a collection of many talented individuals who will go on to find our own separate destinies. Keep our class motto in mind: Our memories of yesterday shall last us a lifetime. Although losing two close games early in the season. Kenston (14- 18) and Trinity (7-3). the Tigers improved their record to a respectable 5-2 in the CVC and an overall record of 7-3. The Tigers utilized a new offense and a versatile defense which made the team a tough opponent for any team. In doing so. many Tigers received honors for the fine seasons they had. Named to the CVC first team were Chip Zachem. Charlie Prentner. Tom Bennington. Brett Rudolph, and Don Shanklin. Sunday afternoon in seemingly quiet Chagrin, history was being made. The tradition- al game between the SENIOR women and the junior girls had begun! Practices organized in August, for both games, resulted in pulled muscles and broken nails. With the assistance of each fine set of coaches and the much needed moral sup- port of the rowdy cheerleaders, both teams worked seri- ously toward the BIG GAME. The game began with a rude awakening for the SENIOR women as Sally Bartunek put the first points on the board. Despite negative yardage, the determined SENIOR women scored a joyous touchdown, skillfully accomplished by Jane Gluf. As penalties ran rampant and the clock ticked away. Jane Phend surprised all by scoring another touchdown for the juniors, making the final score 14-6. ABOVE: A cheerleader free for all. BELOW: Junior offense lightens up. Chagrin Falls High School is enhanced by a bus full of students just returning from a day of skiing. This group of students composes the Ski Club, one which has. unfortunately, been slowed down by a few days of warm weather. Mr. James Howell advises this club; ski excursions generally take the group to Brandywine or Boston Mills ski areas. r. Matt Chinchar's weight lifting club — Tiger Strength — ex- panded noticeably this year, even to the point of including excellent lifter Robin Walters. The club buys its own equip- ment with money it raises from such activities as the an- nual Lift-a-Thon. They create many massive muscles during their strenuous hours of weight lifting, and the group hopes to become more well known in future years. Students piled on the paints and make up, squeezed into their often too tight costumes, and made their way to the Ralph Quesinberry Gymnasium. The Adults” sup- plied the music and the good times. People bopped around the floor to the terrific beat and most felt the dance ended all too soon. It was such a success that there's even talk of having another one. so be free. PUNK OUT!!!
