With the Chaffey basketball team one of the strong contenders were high. for the Citrus Belt Championship, student hopes and enthusiasm When Chaffey tied with Pomona and Riverside for the Championship in basket- ball, enthusiasm became an intense wave, sweeping Chaffey to another great victory at the Invitational Track Meet. Despite the cold, threatening weather, Graber Field was crowded with eager, cheering spectators who witnessed Chaffey fight her way to victory. The baseball team, with Ralph Cornelius as captain, and Captain Hal Harlow's tennis team brought more laurels to Chaffey. Chaftey was equally ctive in other fields during the second semester. Under the efficient dire in of Miss Stanford, Nelson Gray and his staff edited, besides the len ' weekly copies, many entertaining and colorful special editions of the 'Ta er. Students entered enthusiastically into oratorical and declamation con of which the Constitution and the C. B. L. were of great importance. W t Howard Hawkins in charge, the Junior Farm Center Fair, which was d n the early part of May, was pronounced a decided success. With an ct've nd capable executive committee headed by Robert Mc- Arthur as Pres , the spring semester was altogether a very successful one. 11 sy, s s, 11 l' .'1lent-Robert Xlt'.xl'llllll' 'I'ntler ErlitnrfNelson Gray ffff -11 Fisk.,-x Av. . ,1-tif' , rf V- 113 ' Q 1. fi, H-, 1 fx-1 1 V 1.,..4 4 -1. 15.
