Sophomores SOPHOMORE OFFICERS President Barbara Ann Andrews Vice-President-----------------------------------Wayne Richbourg Secretary-----------------------------------------Marietta Mirly Treasurer-----------------------------------------------------Jae Hopkins Reporters------------------------------Jean Dunn, Glenda Green The sophomore class, with forty-three pupils, seventeen girls and twenty- six boys, had Mrs. Ozee as their sponsor. In March, the class presented a play, Sure as You're Born, which was enjoyed by all. A large number of boys represented our class in football and basketball and are expected to make up the majority of the team next year. Four sophomores were initiated into the dramatic club and we are sure they will help it. Two camera club standouts were sophomores too. The band was boosted by a number of sophomores and we were very proud tb have five members of our class chosen for the Mogul staff. Sickness hit the sophomores hard and four members were hospitalized or operated on during the year. Sophomore queen candidate in the Halloween carnival was Patricia Castleman and Royce Cannon was her escort. Katherine Ancell was a queen candidate at the Cotton Carnival in Sikeston. Leona Obermann, escorted by John David Wetzel, represented us at the Valentine program. We are all looking forward to our junior year and hope that next year's sophomores will enjoy their good times as much as we have. — 26 —
