SEVENTH GRADE A brand-new group of twenty-seven girls and thirty-two boys came to Chaffee High this year as members of the seventh grade. Mrs. Lewallen was their sponsor. Officers of the class were: President, Georgia Golightly; Vice-President, Peggy Shell; Secretary, Phyllis Hubbard; and Treasurer, Billy Kimes. Georgia Golightly was the cfcmdidate for Halloween Queen. Special activities enjoyed by the class were a Christmas party, a skat- ing party, a Valentine party, a St. Patrick's Day party, and a spring picnic. The class showed service to others through their contributions to the Junior Red Cross and the March of Dimes. -29 —

EIGHTH GRADE The eighth grade, twenty-nine boys and twenty-cne girls, was sponsored by Mrs. Blocker. Officers of the class were: President, Powell Keeney; Vice-President, Doris Hawkins; Secretary, Larry Lumsden; Treasurer, J. F. Depp; and Reporter, Billy Surman. The class had a Halloween party and their candidate for Halloween Queen, Doris Hawkins, was chosen Junior High Halloween Queen. A Christmas party with the seventh grade was enjoyed. The boys and girls of the class were very active in basketball intra- murals and in band. Closing exercises of the year were the presentation of an operetta The Bandwagon and graduation exercises May 16. — 28 —
