Their fall Carnival Queen candidate was Frances Mitchell and their Valentine queen candidate was Joan Biler. Freshman sponsor was Mr. Sander. =★ ★ ★ ★ ★== Eighth Grade The Eighth Grade Class of 194 5 has undertaken and successfully completed many projects. At the Halloween Carnival, Lawanda Brown was chosen as their candidate for Carnival Queen. Due to the outstanding efforts of her classmates, Miss Brown was crowned Junior High Queen. During the month of January, this class decided to sponsor the Salvation Army Campaign for funds at the high school. Through continued hard work they were able to bring the cam- paign to a successful close and turn over to the Salvation Army a considerable sum. In the field of sports the Eighth Grade also proved themselves. They won the boy’s division ofi the Intramural Basketball Games — defeating all other grades in the Junior and Senior High School. All their year has not been one of work. Several parties have also been held. Among others were a Christmas, St. Patrick Day, and a Valentine Party.
