It was carried on in an entirely different fashion from last year. Miss Pointer thought that it would be a good idea to have the Eighth Grade Girls enroll so they could be practicing for the next year. This idea was met with great success. Thirty-four girls enrolled. This was one of the largest glee clubs the school has ever had. They sang at several programs throughout the year. One of their most popular selections was Morning . Dedication was the number sung at the contest at Cape. This brought them a second rating. — 21 — 1 9 4

The Pep Squad seemed to take a major part in the activities of Good Old Chaffee High this year. Its members wore black skirts and red jackets. The cheer leaders wore white skirts and white cardigan sweaters. A pep rally was held in study hall just before the Jackson game and everyone seemed to have lots of pep and interest. Coach Smith introduced the players, gave their weight and their positions. A few of the players gave their ideas on the Jackson game. The next pep rally was the most spectacular. Everyone met by the stop light, and led by the band, a procession formed, which paraded to the football field where there were yells, songs, and several speeches. All in all, the pep squad has had a successful year. We want to thank every person for their cooperation and hope for another successful year. 19 40 — 22 —
