The Mogul Staff, in presenting this year book, has attempted to bring to the reader, through pictures and printing, what has happened during the school year. We members are very proud to be the first Mogul Staff for this new style of year book. Only by the cooperation of the Mogul Staff, the student body, and the faculty have we been able to publish this annual successfully. We sincerely hope that this product of effort will be greatly treasured by all the students of Chaffee High. HIGH SCHOOL BAND Front Row Maxine Jenkins, Lucille Wells, Marietta Free, Jean Scott, Virginia Bushard, Kathleen Bolton, Wayne Wilkinson, Allie B. Lankford. Second Row — Coletta Slinkard, Gene Peer, Homer Montgomery, Fred Bisplinghoff, Dennis Slirikard, Bob Lick, Billy Mac Crass. Last Row — Franklin Stroud, Bob Lewallen, George Robb, George Green. The High School Band has been a regular feature at all football and basketball games and various other activities held in the gymnasium through- out the year. At the beginning of the year, the band consisted of fourteen members, but at the close of the season it had increased to twenty-one members. Dur- ing the year the band was very sorry to lose two of its oldest members: Bob Rosenquist and John Kenneth Hale. The director of the band is Mr. Arthur Clark. Allie B. Lankford is the drum major. As she is a member of the graduating class, a new one will be selected for next year. During the year they have been working on the following compositions: Witch of Endor by R. E. Hildreth; Pomp and Chivalry by Roberts; Sas- katchewan by Holmes; The Oracle by Taylor; Finlandia by Sibelius; Hul- digungsmarsch by Grieg; Andante Cantabile by Tschaikowsky (Symphony No. 5); Rhythmoods” arranged by Paul Yoder, and The Trojan Prince by Holmes.
