In September 1953 e1ght green freshmen enrolled IH Chaffee H1gh School Th1s was the begmmng of four years of hard work and perseverance for th1s class Mr Weller and Mr Parker were our teachers Our class off1cers were Presxdent Sandra VICE Pres1dent B111 Secretary Jerome and Treasurer Barbara Together w1th the sophomore class we presented the play ent1tled The Case of the NI1SSlI1g HGIFS under the d1rect1on of Mr Parker Lee Pfmgsten left us after our freshman year and Julane Excholtz Jomed us the followmg fall so we st1l1 had e1ght members Our teachers rema1ned the same and our class off1cers were as follows Presxdent Beverly V1ce Pres1dent Sandra Secretary Julane and Treasurer Barbara In January of our Sophomore year we along Wlth the other students moved 1nto the new school A new member Jomed our class 1n October of our Jumor year he was Glenn Pf1ngsten who had prev1ously attended Wheatland H1gh School We elected the followmg persons as class Offlcers Pres1dent Sandra VICE Presxdent Julane Secretary Beverly and Treasurer Jer ome Mr Naaden and Mr Weller were our teachers Th1s year we were awarded our letters for sports at an athletlc banquet sponsored by the P T A The Jun1ors and Sen1ors took part 111 the Cass Valley Conference Prom at the Crystal Ballroom 1n Fargo May 16 When we returned 1n the fall as sen1ors we st1l1 had n1ne members four g1rls and f1ve boys Mr Weller and Mr Wa1lent1ne were our teachers In an electlon held that fall Beverly was elected Pres1dent Glenn V1ce Pres1dent and Secretary Treasurer Sandra Our class part1c1pated 1n the second annual Cass Valley Conference Junlor Sen1or prom held May 6 at the Elk s Club 1n Fargo Our class eagerly awa1ted graduat1on but W111 remember these four years as happy ones In talk1ng to each of the senlors each dec1ded to w1ll the followlng th1ngs JULANE EICHOLTZ w1ll my wmmng ways w1th the oppos1te sex to Beth Tryl1ck my safety dr1v1ng book to Danny R91kOfSk1 and my ab1l1ty to wr1te letters that get results to Jack Morrls GLENN PFINGSTEN w1ll my ab1l1ty to master Engllsh to Darold Z1ck my athlet1c mterests to Lowell L1ebenow and my n1ck names to next year s sen1or boys BARBARA SCHOSSOW w1ll my l1ttle black date book wh1ch by now IS qulte full to Pat Slocum my 1nterest 1n basketball to Lana Kressee and my ab1l1ty to type perfect copy to Carol Paulson JEROME GNOINSKY w1ll my rov1ng eye and wander1ng feet to Wayne Schossow my ab1l1ty to copy ass1gnments from the freshman g1r1s to any sufferlng math student and my real cool ha1rcut to Mr Wallentme BEVERLY KRUEGER w1ll my t1ny wa1st to Marge Pfmgsten my cheer1ead1ng ab1l1ty to LYLE SCHULTZ w1ll my dancmg shoes to M1ke Hruby my w1nn1ng ways w1th Helen and Pat to Ronald and Rodney and my ab1l1ty to always be on t1me to Barb Dlscher who always comes so early SANDRA BARTHOLOMAUS w1ll my ab1l1ty to get the paper out on t1me to Carol Paulson and the next year s staff my front desk by the teacher to Don Jensen who also enjoys h1s and my 1nterest 1n boys from other towns to any g1rl who wants lt BILL PFINGSTEN w1ll my ab1l1ty to stay th1nto Karen Madsen my worn path to Enderl1n to some lonely boy and my track ablllty to Jeanne Anderson STANLEY DEWERrb w1ll my bashfulness to Sh1rley Pfmgsten my hexght to Marvm Olson and my desk behmd Carol to next year s lucky senlor The sen1ors leave the pr1v1leges we d1dn t get to the Jumor class our love for studymg to w1ll leave by our absence to Mr Weller the sophomores our perfect attendance records to the freshmen and the peace and In th1s year of 1987 as I looked back to my school days w1th fond memor1es my m1nd hngered on the sen1or class ah that wasa class all r1ght I thought of each member and of the1r progress and success they had made 1n the world As I landed my Jet southeast of town turkeys flew 1n all r.11rect1on At once I real1zed I was near the Bartholomaus Farm Iglanced around and there stood Sandra w1th a pa1l of feed 1n each hand She IS loyal to Alphonso who has Just a few years left before he can retlre from the Navy S1nce she has a lot of t1me on her hands we sat down to talk about the other class members Naturally the flrst one she talked of was Beverly The last we recalled she was gomg to college m Le Mars Iowa Well after graduat1ng from there she has moved to a farm near Chaffee We heard she has several l1ttle potato plckers runn1ng around the house As we sat there talkmg we saw a car wh1z by Yes we could 1dent1fy the car lt was a two toned Pont1ac You guessed lt It was Julane E1choltz Just testmg her car out to see 1f It would get her over the Alcan H1ghW3y s1nce she 1S plannmg an 1nspect1on tour of her cham of catsup factorles S1nce we had some spare t1me Sandra suggested we Jump 1n her two seated motorcycle and Journey to Enderlm As we pulled 1nto town we not1ced Audrey and her two pet dogs walk1ng U1 the park We stopped to talk 1t seems B111 Pf1ngsten hasn t been heard of for several years It 1S rumored he has a Job 1n the Army recru1t1ng WACS Next we saw Glenn Pfmgsten w1th atelescope standmg on the corner He 15 st111 1n search of anyone ava1lable We slowly walked over to hxm and we d1scussed Jerome Gnomsky Jerome has left home and 1S workmg 1n Fargo 1n h1s own pr1vate rrench school HIS Wlfe IS a blonde Horace g1rl One ofthe students 15 Barbara Schossow She has taught school for several years R1ght now she takes French dur1ng even1ng classes It seems Barbara has never marr1ed She 1S wa1t1ng for someone to lose h1s TELESCOPE Next to be thought of was Lyle Lyle has taken over h1s father s farm He and Pat have bu1lt an a1rplane hangar on the farm and spend the1r free moments 1n the a1r lnc1dently they own a four passenger plane and It IS rumored they w1ll soon trade It 1n on a larger one We dec1ded to Jump mto the motorcycle and look over Chaffee The f1rst person we saw 1n L1ll1an s Cafe was Stan he was havmg h1s morn1ng coffee It seems he 15 work1ng m the Elevator Th1s way he has plenty of t1me to sow
