WITH TALENT LIKE PETER BORDEN, AVERAGING 19 POINTS A GAME, ANDY MITCHELL, JON SLUSHER, AND CHRIS SIMONOFF, FOLLOWED BY SKILLED FRESHMEN IT IS VERY SURPRISING THAT THE J.V., BASKETBALL TEAM DIDN'T HAVE A BETTER RECORD. ALTHOUGH MATCHED AGAINST TOUGH SOUTH BAY SCHOOLS, THE TEAM HAS WON THEIR LAST FOUR GAMES, INCLUDING RIO HONDO, CHADWICK CAN LOOK FORWARD TO A WINNING 1983-84 YEAR DUE TO THESE FINE ATHELETES. L. THE DOLPHIN'S SEASON WENT WELL THIS YEAR, THE TEAM DEFEATED SUCH POWERHOUSES AS REDONDO AND MIRALESTE HIGH SCHOOLS. THEY THEN WENT INTO THE C.I.F. PLAYOFFS EASILY GO- ING TO THE THIRD ROUND WHERE THEY WERE DEFEATED BY A VERY STRONG CROSSROADS TEAM. BUT BECAUSE OF THEIR OUTSTANDING RECORD AGAINST PUBLIC SCHOOLS, THE DOLPHINS WERE ASKED TO COME BACK AND PLAY AS A WILDCARD, WHICH THEY DID, WINNING ON A LAST SECOND SHOT BY JON KAUFMAN. AT PRESS TIME, THEY ARE DUE TO PLAY CROSSROADS AGAIN TO SEE WHO GOES TO THE STATE FINALS. ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE TEAM DESERVE YOUR RECOGNITION, AND THEY EX- PECT TO SEE YOU ALL OUT NEXT YEAR.
