ROW 2: William Frey, Jackie Schreiner, Sherie Strauch, Ann Mackey, Debra.Mertz, Shelby Pauley, Chris Keim, Pamela Akker. ROW 3: Bonnie Weirsema, Dale Queckboerner, Cathy Hartman, Marna Bittner, Judy Brightman, John Balk, Richard Gordon. Twenty-two members enrolled in the sixth grade this year, eight boys and fourteen girls. Class officers for this first semester were:President, Chris Keimg vice-president, Ann Mackeyg sec- retary, Kathy Wiersemag treasurer, .Tim Heffelfingerg pro- gram chairman, Pamela Akker. Assessment of five cents per month was collected for dues for our Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine parties. Many of our mem- bers are in Beginner's Band, Junior Band, Girls' Chorus, Mixed Chorus, baseball, track, and cheerleading. ROW 3: Steven Akker, Franklin Cook, Larry Boelkins, Janet Dimpfl, David Brown, Randy Fjelstad, Jeannine Brightman, Susan Matherson, Deborah Schroeder, Christine Weber. Eighteen boys and fourteen girls came to grade 5 on August 29. In September Vickie Day moved to a farm south of Rock Falls. Early in the year our class organized a club and elected these officers: Leonard Queckboerner, Presidentg Curtis Keim, Vice-President, Deborah Schroeder, Sec- retary. The purpose of our club isto encourage good citizenship. Pupil committees make many decisions. Our room received an award because all the families of our pupils made the home fire inspection during Fire Prevention Week. Fifth grade is a year of first for many of the children: the first chance to take instrumental lessons, the first year the boys participate in sports activities, and the first time to take part in painting Halloween pictures on the store window. Semester one class officers: President, Mark Zurndahl: Vice-President, Ricky Baurngardt: Secretary, .Tim Miller: Treasurer, Lowell Mest. This class has talent, lots of it! We have representatives in Senior Band, Junior Band, Mixed Chorus, Girls' Chorus, Baseball, Track, and Bas- ketball. We also are proud of our trio: Mark Zumdahl, Lowell Mest and Jim Miller.
