The plot of the play is as follows: The Coleman family of three: mother, song-writing son Ben and stage-struck daughter Carol, are at home to a worn and slipping movie idol, his agent a Holly- wood columnist, and her photographer in swift sequence. The crowning touch is added by Charwanka , a Russian actress who tries to take over the idol but finds her equal in mother Herman Coleman. Carol has her problems trying to interest The Ham in her talent while at the same time she tries to hold onto Johnny, her sailor, who is being attacked by Elvira, A Southern Menace. With steadily increasing momentum, they become hilariously involved in keeping different parties from knowing others are in the same small house. Finally Herman must resort to gun play to win in the scramble and keep a circumstantial scandal from breaking and to finish things off For the better. July lO I954 the voters of school dustruct T99 voted a S350 OOO OO bond ussue to buuld a new communuty hugh school Bradley and Bradley orchutects were employed to desugn a new modern buuldung for thus commun uty On January 28th l955 buds were receuved for the buuldung and equup ment Low budders were as follows General Contract O Jorgensen and Sons Plumbung Weckesser and Sons Electruc Broadway Electruc Heatung Nelson Pupung Company On February 7th Jorgensens moved un theur equupment to start excava tung and gradung The furst concrete for footungs un the foundatuon was poured on February 22nd and sunce then we have seen the buuldung grow Now ut us nearung completuon and ut looks as uf we wull be movung un around the furst of Aprul The buuldung wull contaun the followung rooms General Shop and Agru culture Shop Agruculture Classroom and Laboratory Commerc-ual and Typung Room Englush Speech Room Socual Scuence Math Room Health Room Of Fuce Receptuon and Pruncupal s Offuce Musuc Offuce Musuc Practuce Rooms a large Stage for Band and Chorus work Gymnasuum and Dressung Rooms The new central heatung plant us for both buuldungs The Cafeterua was buult onto the old buuldung and us for both schools There are also several storage and supply rooms The cafeterua and musuc departments wull be shared by both schools Our new buuldung makes ut possuble to care For a student enrollment un hugh school of upwards to l75 students and about 250 elementary students un the grade buu ldung We are all lookung forward to M Day movung day wuth a great deal of antucupatuon of a dream come true Chadwuck wull have a school adequate for the students un the elementary and hugh schools for many years to come thanks to the cutuzens of Chadwuckl 54 . . ..
