Then as time passed, we picked up two new members to our class - Nancy Hurd and Jean Thomas. Later on Nancy Hurd moved to Dixon and our class ended up the year with twenty members. Miss Menchhoff was our advisor and under her capable supervision we had many happy events. Our first party was one of initiation for the Freshmen. lt was loads of fun and a fine time was had by all. Later on the Freshmen returned the party and a fine time was had at their party. The boys had to wear pants cut off at the knees. Gunny-sacks for shirts, two different kinds of shoes, and their hair parted in the middle. We were put through many stunts and quite a few were doubtful of how everything was going to turn out. We Survived to enjoy dancing, music by the faculty, and refreshments. We realize what time and effort the Sophomores put into this party, and we wish to say Thank you . The class regretted seeing Mickey Hawk leave their group. He moved at the end of the semester and is now attending Mt. Carroll High School.
