JUNIOR PROM On the night of May 5th the Junior class was host to the Seniors at a banquet The following program was given lelcome Lano Franks Responce Ned Hartman Prophecy Esther Isenhart After an elegant meal the group returned to the high school with their guests for a fine evening r brzi 'e of dancing to the music of A1 Grace and his orchestra The ballroom was decorated in blue and white with a theme Stairway to the Starsn The room was illumi ated by sparkl ing stars, and during the course of the evening many twinkl ing stars floated downward to the dancing floor In the center of the ballroom was a stairway l68d1HZ to a large star in the center The clever decorations are the art work of Mr Unzicker and his Junior class, and ch credit for the success of this wonderful event must go to him 17 Class Hill -------- Viletta P. n U .A '

JUNIOR CLASS PLAY The Junior Class Play 'Oh Brother' by Christopher Sergel was presented to a capacity crowd on the evening of April 14th This gay comedy related the story of a high school senior, Paul who was trying desperately to raise money so that he could afford to take his girl friend, Jane, our and treat her to more than just a coke KBanana splits and costly sundaes were her specialty J In Paul's attempt to earn the money honestly, he finds that one comic misadventure after another occurs to thwart him KEach of which seemingly is innocentl First, his younger brother, Junior, invades his photographic equipment and ruins the lens of a borrowed camera The owner, Mr Willoughby, and also unfortunately, his father's boss, 1sn't the least bit pleased with him When photography fails, he tries selling chicken feed But, once again, Junior tries to be helpful, only hindering him instead To the chicken feed, he added a mixture of D are killed and chances for Paul then looked pretty gloomy! Ir Jones, the father, shows his outrage at the escapades of his family, Mrs Jones tries to keep the family in hand, spending her greatest effort calming the enraged father Paul's sister Mary, seems to be on the 'in' with most his enter prise and loyally attempts to defend him when all else has failed Of course, all ends well! Paul's photography helps advertise Mr W1lloughby's hats The sales increase, and part of the profit goes to Paul He and Jane then can go off for a splurge at the local soda grill 16 D. T. The tragic result is that a great number of chickens

SOPHOMORE CLASS lst row Miss Karriker, Allen Haag, Lyle Tripp, Walter Nelson, Gayle Neber, Mr Morning 2nd row Shirley Friederich, Velma Swanson, Mary Schleuning, Marvellis Prowant, Lois Janssen, Marilyn Schriener, Barbara Hawk 5rd row Joyce Eickert, Darlene Anderson, Marie Iben, Allen Tripp, Delores Daehler, Dorothy Shibly Last year's timid freshman class, which then consisted of eighteen members, resumed their studies on August 29, 1949 This year we found a few changes in our class, we now have only seventeen members We lost three of last year's classmates but were consoled by the arrival of our two new members, Valter Nelson and Lois Janssen At our first class meeting we elec ed the following officers Pres Walter Nelson Tregs Allen Haag SGC? G9Y19 Weber Reporter Marvellis Prowant Our first thoughts were of initiating the freshman This is something we had been looking forward to ever since our own in itiation The initiation was followed by a party in the evening to which the entire school was invited Ne wish to thank our class sponsors, Miss Karriker and Mr Morning for their help this past year Marvellis Prowant 18 V- Pres- ' Lyle Tripp St. C: ----- Lois Janssen
