The purpose of the Pilots, Chadsey High School's Burton A. Barns Chapter of the National Honor Society is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character. A student must obtain a B scholastic aver- age and acquire at least 25 service points in order to become a pilot. Members of the Pilots receive a spe- cial certificate bearing the name of the organization and receive special honor ln Chadsey's Hall of Fame. Each semester an initiation ceremony is held for the new members. Following the ceremony a reception is held for the members of the Honor Society: their par- ents and special guests. Mr. Joseph A. Wytrwal is sponsor and Miss Elinor Batie is associate-sponsor of the society.
