At no other time in the history of the world has the social lite of a country been so sorely tried as it is being tried today amid this changing and critical era. The students of Chadron can well be proud of the opportunities offered them tor preparation and conditioning for this new lite. Ot the numerous social organizations, of the varied and developing athletic games, of the professional orders which exist, any student, no matter what may be his or her aims can easily and profitably find one or several that he or she can do well to follow. l X X 1 f uf Xxx if XX 4 ' 5 x X Or mf W Y ' 'ff' 1, H T ? Later it became a social sorority and is the oldest one on the campus. The character of Hlice Freeman Palmer was not forgotten, however, as the organization in- creased in membership and activity. She still remains the ideal and inspiration of every girl in the sorority. Qlpha Phi Pi members are chosen carefully on the basis of scholarship and character. The sorority is a cooperative organization and every girl realizes her importance in the group. Page Fifty-four Its purpose is to foster a spirit of fellowship and loyalty among the members and to work for the college welfare. Pls this is a social sorority, many social functions are held during the year. The two most outstanding ones are the Christmas in- formal dance and the spring formal at which some definite theme is used to give a holiday atmosphere. Miss Elma Rogers, who has been president of the sorority for two years, was especially honored this year by being presented as Blue Key Sweetheart. The tra- ternity's ideals, scholarship, fellowship, sports- manship and loyalty, as well as the rivalry with the Psi Betas, have been instrumental in obtaining and maintaining this position. The fraternity was organized in the fall of 1928 with thirteen charter members and has Page Fifty-six since steadily grown. Qt the present time it has an active membership of forty. Delta Pi members are prominent in extra- curricular activities as well as in the class- room, which is shown by the winning of the Blue Key Revue twice in its tour presentations.
