The first, entitled We Live to Leam, presents Our Teachers, without whom a program of study would not be possible, and Our Classes, the other phase of the cooperative endeavor of the EGOX4 THE SEQQND The second section, entitled We Learn to Live. presents Our Societies, the various social, professional, and honorary organ- izations, Our Flthletics, the heroes of the gridiron and of the basketball court and the Women who proved that they were not the weaker of the sexes, and Our Lite, the milestones in a year of college life.

nv THU 74N0fGArfv4N The primary purpose ot Chadron State Teachers College is to engender in the student body those underlying principles and ideals which will best lit them for the task of teaching in the public schools of Nebraska and of the United States. The cooperation between the faculty and the student body in achieving this aim results in lite that is peculiar to an educa- tional institution, a life that is a composite of earnest endeavor in study and healthful indulgence in social activity. This lite as ot the school year l938-1939 has been placed between the two covers of this volume and has been entitled the 1939 HNOKHSHN. This publication in later years shall refresh on a taint memory the picture of this developmental period and the ideals, habits, and appreciations which characterized these days.
