(£Ccl44, 'Piofodeccf The time is 1970. The place is Mick's living room. The scene is Mick propped against a pillow in a large easy chair in front of his newly acquired TV. He reaches across and flips the dial. The picture is as per usual, one of falling snow. Suddenly he hears a clear crisp voice, To stop the snow, call Joe, your friendly repairman. Basketball Bill, Alias Bill Meng. The snow clears and your TV commentator, Ted Wilson, is seen reporting the excitement sur- rounding Alice Marie Wohlers on her coming marriage to the Chieftain of the Belgian Congo. Mick bolts upright and changes channels. The picture that now appears on the screen is Vita Heidebrecht leading her 24 piece man jazz band in the secluded night spot, Keg O Nails. Incidentally, she's still playing either the right note at the wrong time or the wrong note at the right time. As the spotlight moves around the room, Lois Covic is seen tilting the pool table. She has come a long way since the time way back in 1956 when site played her first game of pool at Fort Bob. Still frowning, Mick again flips the dial. The picture is of a famous fashion shop in Paris. Model Juanita Paine steps forward wearing a French bikini bathing suit. In the audience sits Darrel Wohlers with his eye sockets bulging. There's been an interruption in the program, across the stage comes Darrel. He's come a long way, that boy. Still gasping, Mick tries another channel. The scene is the beautiful resort in Nova Scotia. Roberta Lembke is seated on the couch with a broken leg, broken arm, and a broken heart. She is looking longingly out the window at the graceful ease with which Dixie Hardy is swooping down the hill on the skis she bought from Stan Schmechel who owns and operates a sporting goods store in Greenland. Mick eases back in his chair and prepares for a night’s relaxation but suddenly Jim Kaiser interrupts the scene by giving the station break. He is advertising good health vitamins, as an example he ushers forth Jay Muma, but wait a minute, there has been some sort of slip up, this picture was taken when Jay was only four. After the station break, we see Marian Clevenger and Mary Waldron, two fine examples of the modern homemakers. They are sponsoring the baby of the year show. The lucky baby is, or babies, we should say, are Aletta D. Hussy's latest set of quads. Mick snuggles further down in his easy chair, everything is going smoothly. The FFA Association's new president, Allen Gray, is presiding. He is applying his personality as well as his education to the growing problem of food shortage. His girl Friday, Marlene Smith, is attracting more attention than he is. It couldn't be because of the bird's nest on her hat, could it? Mrs. Mickelson calls Mick up to bed, but like every red-blooded American boy he begs to be allowed to stay up to listen to the sports cast. Tom Williams, World Olympic winner in pole vaulting, flashes across the screen. Tom's finally made it. Smiling broadly, Mick flips off the TV and staggers up to bed.
