T oy ad a seesons record of five vine, one loss, end or.e tie. e Preus finished second in the Northwest Nebraska Confere:ce for ,he second straight year. They started off the seeson wit” an iaoressive ,h n win over Heaingford. The Junior Merles then traveled to Alliance enc beat ‘he Alliance Referve” 28-1? after a slow siprt. Then on October 6 the Preps celebrated Homecoming. They beat an egressive Hay Sorings team 7-0, on a oass in the last few minutes of oley. The following week the Pre- s met a r-igged team from Rushville end. went down in defeat 19-7. Thus came the end of a glorious 71 game winning streak. The Preos oroved to be good losers as well as good winners by bo’incing back the next week to defeat a strong Crawford soued 19—7 The Jun’or Eagles went to Sidney the following week and after a long tiring trip they battled the teem from St. Pats to a 13-13 tie. The Preos met the Pine Ric.ge Indians at Pine Ridge for there last game of the seeson. The Junior Eagles trounced Pine Ridge 52-19 in a game which was featured by long runs and dazzling nesses. Every souad member saw olenty of ection in this contest. Bob Armstrong and Les Churchill led the Prep scoring with six touchdowns apiece. Charles Muma, Preps pass catching end and Bob Armstrong, halfback were first string choices on the All-Conference team. Dick Derrick, rugged center and fullbeck Les Churchill made the second team. The teem as well as these players are grateful to Coach Archie Conn for their teams sucess and fully realize that they could not have reached such heights without his aid. 23
