Class Prophesy After roaming far and wide following our graduation, we meet our fellow members of the Class of 1950 ten years later at the monthly town meeting of Chadron. There are several notable absences at the beginning, but we expect the missing ere the meeting adjourns. Eie meeting la called to order by the stalwart young mayor, Bellowing Bob Luchsinger. As he clears his throat, a commotion is heard at the door, and a late-comer rushes in. It Is brawny Jim Thorness, who has had to work overtime at his Job as bouncer at Bob Joe's. He slips Into a vacant seat next to Thelma King, auctioneer at the Chadron Sale Barn, and the mayor continues. The following procedure takes place: A plea is made by C. S. T. C. Coach Potsy Zuska and Miss Margie Swett, Women's Physical Rducation teacher at the college, for more funds to pay their athletes for working on the city streets. The local financial wizard, Miss Carol Bayllff, suggests that the measure be put before a committee. The mayor therewith makes Miss Bayllff chairman of a committee consisting of Civil Air Patrol Chief Gene Covic, Air Hostess Helen George, and Dixie Hill, who has at last realized her ambition in the medical field. She is scrub woman at the Chadron Municipal Hospital. Measures are passed to establish a Chadron-Alliance jet- driven bus line with Barbara Burkhiser as driver; and to enable the Municipal chorus under the direction of Conductor Wetterstrom to take a nation-wide tour. Short talks are given on safety by Patrolman (Hun-em-in) Bartels; on medical science, by female horse dentist, Shannon Saylor; on rural methods, by Bergette Pettegrew, county agent; and last of all, an address by foreign ambassador Glen Wyatt of Pine Ridge. At this point the meeting is interrupted by a commotion in the hallway. It turns out to be the party of Concert Pianist Rsther Laue, opera stars Merrill Patterson and Rosemary Bailer, and their business agent, Marjorie Ogle, back from a successful appearance at Carnegie Hall. Bringing up the rear is valet Ted Turpin, carrying the luggage. After this party is welcomed and seated, a special ceremony is held, presenting the anmi«i Liar's Club trophy to rancher Bob ly for his tales of South Dakota. After a delicious dinner served by Georgina Logan, social leader of Chadron and president of the Women's Club, the meeting is adjourned. 12
