(Coaches—Mary Lou Marshall, and Sheryl Levi) The Cardinal Varsity team worked hard during the 1978 season, and ended the year with a 5 win-9 loss record. Many of the girls did an outstanding job; all but three lettered. Among these were several girls who were recognized for most spikes, sets, blocks, and serves. These included Pam Robbins, Selina Castillo, Jody Rish, and Renee Schommer. Most-im- proved netter was Renee Schommer, and Pam Robbins was named All-around Player for the year. HAVE A FINE SEASON The twelve member Junior Varsity team had a winning sea- son, tying up the year with seven wins and three losses. All but two team members lettered. Outstanding players were: Lori Schenck, high point server and spiker, with 50 points, and 58 spikes; Shari Fisher, high point setter, with 113 sets; and lisa Kallhoff, high point blocker, with 5 blocks. Se- lected as most improved player was Lisa Kallhoff. JR. VARSITY WINS LOSSES Gordon Alliance Valentine Gering Mitchell Sidney Scottsbluff Rushville Kimball Hemingford Renee Schommer, Selina Castillo, Jodi Rish, and Pam Robbins were award winners at the Volleyball Awards Banquet. Other winners in- cluded Shari Fisher, Lisa Kallhoff, and Lori Schenck. The 1978 Freshman Volleyball team had a fine year, with two losses and three wins. The nine girls who went out for this sport had some very fine rallies, and won resoundingly over two of their opponents, Gordon and Hemingford. Out- standing servers were Jackie Howard, with 32 points, Jill Larsen with 29, and Linda Bauerkemper with 26 points.
