As years come and go, as one generation supplants another, we realize more and more the importance of the great heritage that one generation gives to another. The 1956 edition of the Cardinal is an attempt on the part of the sponsors and staff to picture the activities and personalities of the generation. It is my hope that this book will preserve the memories and efforts of a people trying to gain experiences, know- ledge and culture that will help them better live and serve in a Democratic Society.

Caught in one of their rarest moments of conversation are the student secretaries, Joyce Sager, Barbara Grant, Fauneil Walter , Marlene Cockle, Faye Witt, Shirley Shaw, Marlene Ras- mussen, and Linda Garrison. Arlene Neben, Mr. Myers' Secretary, is busy at one of her usual jobs.
