Marcelo Balboa gets tough In one word, our Varsity Soccer Team wa AWESOME! This year the Dons had many new face on the team, including three freshman and a senic from Washington. Under the direction of Coac Flores, for the first time in CHS history our tear became SGVL Champions. The Dons were knocke out of the first round play-offs by being defeated b John Muir 3-5. Four members of the team wer selected for the All-League first team; Frank J.R. Anderson and Claudio Balboa - Defense; Marcell-Balboa - Offense. The Most Valuable Player for th SGVL was Enrique Andrade. Enrique was also selecte for the ALL-CIF 4-A Division Team. 78 Var. Soccer

A BITTERSWEET SEASON A bittersweet season for the Lady Dons ' says Coach Johnson. Our Lady Dons finished their season in 4th place, with an overall record of 14-9, and record 6-6. Carol Brandt, our M.V.P., scored the most points in a game, 38 pts., a Cerritos record. Their most outstanding game was against Gahr in which it was the first time Cerritos girls beat Gahr. The Lady Dons didn't make it to the playoffs but played very well and hope to return next year, taking a place in the playoffs. 1. Carol Brandt the MVP 2. The 1982-1983 Var basketball team 3. Patty Mazon playing good offense against the Pirates. 4 Meg Dearman stealing the ball'from a jumping Pirate. 5. Meg Dearman looking for a open space. 6. Trina Powell up for a jump shot. 7.
