VARSITY TENNIS TAKES 6th The Varsity Tennis team had an overall record of 15 wins and 6 losses and a league record of 10 wins and 2 losses. The most valuable player was Debbie Spence. One special standout of the season was Debbie Spence winning the C.I.F. Singles title for the second year in a row. VARSITY DONS GAIN YARDAGE AND A DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP This year’s Varsity Football team finished 6-4 overall and 3-3 in league play. It was a very much improved team from last year’s 0-10 record. Coach Manzo stated that they dedicated themselves to hard work and that it was that dedication and good attitudes that made the much improved team successful. There were many special standouts this year, such as: Sidney Johnson, the team's most valuable player, Jimmy Osbournes nine touchdown season, and Reggie Nettles. Coach Manzo and all of Cerritos High are looking forward to next year's season and hopefully another district championship. 1 The Most Valuable Player Sidney Johnson 2.
