Frosh-Soph track high in spirits ------ ith an overall record of 5-4 and a “ ww w fourth place finish, the “ Ilf Frosh Soph Track Team had an ggf excellent season. The team was I lead by a number of Most I Valuable Players, such as An-J thony Williams, Sprinter — Robert Lan, and Long Distance Runner — Ron Hill. These Fine young men will be back next year to lead the varsity team. Coach Martinez stated that they were strong in field events, as well as in spirits. 1. Joe Maddox running for the lead. 2. --------- ith the breaking of many records Wthis past season the varsity Girls' Track Team did exceptionally well. The Most Valuable Player J and League Champ Lea J McFarlane lead the team, as well ---------1 as other special standouts such as Shotput Champ Stephanie Baker, and the 440 relay team. Coach Hill was very proud of her girls, and with the loss of only a few seniors, the girls’ varsity team should be one of the best ever at CHS next season. Back Row from L to R: Cathy Roberts. Greater things will happen i n the '81'82 frosh soph xcountry season, a group of fine, young men earned a record of 5-2 and a tie for third overall with Gahr. Leading the team was M.V.P. Gary Durian, a sophomore and a first year runner for the DON MACHINE . The powerful freshmen also kept with the pace of their leaders. Their advisor, Mr. Smutts, noted that they will be working hard in the off season and he is expecting even greater accomplishments from his boys next year. 1.
