Hi, my name is... and Vm running for... he Annual nominating convention was held in the CHS Little Theater on March 9th. In case you never had the opportunity to participate in a nominating convention, it was a chance when an equal number of students from each class participated in a somewhat political situation and voted for candidates to appear on the ballot for ASB offices. Delegates and delegate leaders wore clothes depicting what their state was famous for and made signs to support the candidates of their choice, while nervous candidates presented their qualifications to the Convention. The Actual Convention reflected the effort put out by the Comm, of Elections, Jerry Springer. The ASB Cabinet did an excellent job in preparing the convention which ran smoothly except for the fact that the PA system was not working. This, however, did not surpress the Comments which were said to each state. All in all. every delegate leader, delegate and candidate alike had a great time experiencing our school's political process. 1. Dan Kumamoto and Sharon Shepas saying, One vote for Oklahoma. 2. “Swing your partner... 99 nee again, students showed their country-western spirit when they attended the annual Sadie Hawkins Dance. The dance was held in our gym on March 20, 1982, from eight in the evening until twelve midnight. In an attempt to get the clubs on campus more involved, the A.S.B. Cabinet had the clubs help in the sponsoring and planning of the dance with the profits being split evenly between each club. Some of the clubs that helped sponsor and plan the dance were the Senior Womens Social Club who sponsored a Marriage Booth, the Math Club who ran a Dating Love Machine, the International Club which sponsored a Bounty Hunt and Jail, and C.S.F. provided the drinks for the dance. Photography was provided by Sanford Studios while music was played by the D.J. Fly By Night.” This years trend was for each couple to wear matching duds. In all, the Sadie Hawkins Dance proved to be a success for the Cabinet, the clubs, and for all those who were in attendance. 46 Activities Sadie Hawkins Dance
